Good solid product
This is the second of this log splitter that I purchased. The first one lasted 20 years or so before one of the seals gave way. I figure my cost for the first one was approx $10/year. This product is fantastic & a great way to exercise. I highly recommend it!

Strong ram overpowers and breaks the device
This works fine with weak wood. But with dense, strong wood, the ram is so powerful that it damages the weaker ram plate rather than splitting the wood. What I particularly don't appreciate is that neither the seller nor the manufacturer is able to provide either parts or service. Mine lasted 5 months, enough to be out of warranty, but far less than I would have expected this to last. Since I can't get it fixed, now I have to find an alternative.

Great value for money
Bought as a back up for my first manual 10 ton log splitter. I love the simplicity of this tool. It doesn’t take much strength to use. Just make sure you use the short stroke power handle to make the split, once it starts and you can feel the pressure let off than you can use the long stroke handle to quickly finish the log. I’m burning maple, oak, Douglas fir and some walnut. The hard woods require more strength (but not much). The Fir splits so quickly I rarely use the short stroke handle ( power stroke). I’ve split 20 inch diameter Fir with ease. I like the quietness of this tool. My wood pile is in our garage and running the electric splitter we have is just to load. I heat my house solely with wood heat. In about 30 minutes on this splitter I can split enough wood for 2 to 4 days. I don’t mind splitting as I go. I get it rough split and seasoned so I’m not worried about seasoning the wood

Works as advertised
It doesn’t break you down like swinging a splitting maul. Process is slow but it splits small to medium diameter logs. Recommend using hatchet after initial split to finish the job. This will make the process much quicker. Just make sure to release the pressure.

Great for little stuff ! It’s affordable and gets the job done for what I need just for the family fire pit and my little wood stove in my garage

Don't buy. Cheaply made. Broke on first try.
Don't buy. On the very first log I tried splitting, (6 inch diameter max) the log splitter started to leak oil from one of the seals in the pistons. I contacted the seller requesting a refund. I had to pay UPS $186 to ship back a $200 log splitter that never worked. I asked the seller if I could get a refund on shipping. They said they would after they received their product. The seller never contacted me back again. Cheaply made, horrible customer service.

Works great and is built very strong.
It works incredibly well and is built very strong. I split a log that was about 20" across without a lot of effort, but the log did sound like an M-80 going off when it split. This picture shows how much wood I split in the first 30 minutes a had the splitter.

I also bought a Sun Joe LJ10M, it was ...
I also bought a Sun Joe LJ10M, it was cheaper and was delivered fully assembled in two days. To my surprise, the Logger Joe seems to be the identical machine as this one except for the brand name and color. It was cheaper, arrived faster and fully assembled. In hindsight I wish I had simply bought the Logger Joe.
