Cooking Soups for Dummies

I have quite a few books on making soup, but nothing like this one. This thing is liking take a course in Soup 101. It's sorta half talking all about soup, and half recipes. Truly, if you love soup and are always trying to find new ways to make different and better ones, and, can't get enough of talking about soup and learning new tips and ideas, this book is for you big time. All my other books are all about recipes, which this has an ample of amount of. But the opening chapters really do begin as if someone doesn't even know what soup is. It's interesting, hard to put down, full of lore and tips about cooking soup, and, has some great recipes in it as well. Some well known and trustworthy, and some a little more daring. Even my Mom has learned something new. All in all a terrific book on soup you will not find anywhere else that I highly recommend.. : )

I visit a resturant at least once a month and found that I love their soups. When talking to the cook about the receipes for his soups, he told me that they come from this book.. Now, I can make the same soups and they are so very tasty!

I wanted a book on making soup. From scratch. This book tells you to take this can of soup and mix it with that can of soup and add a couple of veggies and voila! Soup. Could have read the back of the campbell soup can and done that.

good book gave me some new flavor combinations that were very good. I like to try new flavor combination's and this had some great idea's.

I love this cookbook. I use it all the time. The soups are delicious and the recipes are easy to follow. The ingredients aren't expensive and can be bought in most food stores and supermarkets.

I returned the book. It didn't cover enough of what I was looking for but the service was fast and very reliable.Somebody else would probably love this book.

Well put together and well thought out. Basic, timeless principles of soup-making. Good basic info.

There are a lot of great soups especially for the winter months.
