After 6 years my original open cell dumbbells finally bit the dust and I had to buy new ones. Unfortunately I could not find any open cells available, so I purchased the Bintiva brand of closed cell dumbbells. I was a little worried that they would not be as water resistant as the open cell, but after using them just once, I was very surprised they worked as well as the open cell, and maybe had a little more resistance.
