Question 1

The two detectors will be located in two different outdoor areas of the house. Can each detector be set to activate two different tones?

Accepted Answer

No. Both sensors trigger the one receiver which can be configured to play one tune or sound. Some products support unique tones for each sensor but this one does not.
It works very well though.

Question 2

All these questions and nobody asked this question (interesting) -Is the sensor water proof?

Yes they are waterproof and snow proof. I had bought my mother one in 2013 when my father had passed for some extra security for my mother and just today 6/18/22 we have to replace because it the inside unit started making a humming noise and won't stop. We figured after 9 years of snow, rain, heat whatever it's time to buy another. It is a bit sensitive but once you know what triggers it you can either take care of like weeds across the road or someone mowing grass in yard across the dirt road. Other than that was verry pleased with this sensor. THANKS!!!!!!

what happens if the temp goes below 20Deg 68Deg Fahrenheit

I have 4 of these outside, 2 are giving me trouble in a michigan winter,, keeping dry but been close to 0 degrees. I don't think the newer ones work as well. One is eating 3 new AAA batteries every 2 weeks and makes a noise like it's moving inside, another I just received, wont work, can't pair it.  Whats going on with this company?
In the past only had to replace 1 that I ran over, other than that just problems with new ones. Thankfully Amazon is replacing the one I just got. Amazon does take care of it's customers.

Does it have a simple chime?

There are 2 "simple" chimes, and 32 "other-alerts", on ours.     Hint to manufacturer..
 I would like to be able to program the two sensors with different chimes.
