I have had the petsmart wrap, and some other wraps from Amazon... BUT THIS IS THE BEST ONE YET! More control than you first thought! Its not plastic so its good for him during the summer! It is not too wide or too slim, it covers all of his shaft and head so we don't get any accidental peek-a-boo's! Most wraps are the same wide width all the way around, but this one isn't and thats one of the reasons its better no matter the season! He can't take it OFF! The velcro is long enough that he can't take it off no matter WHAT he does! Even if the dog in heat tries to help him! They're smart little dogs and DETERMINED!!! He can't move it around to get it out, and he cant wiggle out of this one! One end slides through a clip and its LOCKED IN once you close it! The velcro on this one doesn't seem to get clogged like the others did! The others got clogged and were then rendered useless because the dogs could decide if they wanted to keep it on or take it off. I like that this stays cleaner than any other wrap! We use a small pad in it, but the belt is not allowing any wetness out! He cannot mark!!! You can adjust the wrap to be as tight as you need it to be, but take it off when the dog eats so they wont fill fuller faster, or if your dog needs a diet, keep it on and they will stop eating sooner, for filling full faster! They should drop the unwanted weight far faster than exercise alone! Imagine that, a waist trainer for dogs! LOL I know thats not what its for, but it WOULD work for that too! I'm just crazy about this little wrap! I can take him ANYWHERE and never have an accident, excited, horny, or whatever, he's not going till I TAKE IT OFF! At $10.79 its a great deal! You can find the others for less, but they wont be as good as this one. I need something thats good for the dog no matter what the weather is, and when its hot out I dont want to feel guilty because his wrap is too hot on him.

We have been using this belly band (as well as trying others) for several months and we are thrilled with the results. First, we prefer this one to those that are a uniform width all around, with the gathered edges, because there is no need to have the 5-inches or so of the fabric on those of uniform width covering our dog's sides and back. He doesn't need protection there. It makes him looks silly and leaves less room for petting. And we think it will be hot come summer. At this point, I don't understand why all the models of these don't slim down to more of a strip for the part that goes across the back of the dog. Second, my family and my dog are much happier now. I hate to admit this, but my rescue love is at least 11 now, and for many of the last 10 years he has been making a mess in the house. We used wee wee pads, but he'd often miss, at least partially, and we were constantly cleaning up. Not to mention his marking, which left us finding puddles everywhere. There is much less stress in our house now that we aren't finding his messes and having to clean them up. He doesn't love sitting still to have his wrap put on, but he's decided it's worth it for the extra bite or two of his beef jerky treats. One of the negative reviews of this indicated difficult taking off the wet wrap. My dog (20 pounds, probably bichon/poodle) can wee a lot. I use these with a female maxi-paid or, lately, a "male guard" which is a urinary incontinence aid for men (Depends). I can't imagine expecting this little piece of fabric (the wrap) to absorb all the urine. The advantage to the male guards is that they are bigger so the doggie wrap is not exposed and can go longer between washings. If we just use a women's maxi-pad, some of the doggie wrap gets wet and it always needs to be washed. All together, we have 6 wraps now and two of this model. I am about to order another. We'll keep the others only for the rare times when all of these need to be washed.

I have a Westin with anxiety problem, we can't pet him because we have to go for the cleaning tools :( I bought this diaper based on the reviews, unfortunately, it did not work for him. I bought him the small per the measurement recommended. The fit is good, and the diaper works if he doesn't move to much, but after about 20 minutes of normal walking around the house, the diaper slides back and no longer works; if he is playing around with my children, make that 3 minutes. Also, the strap is not easy to put on or take of if he is moving...and he usually is, so it becomes a two person job. The difficulty taking it off makes it a pain to take him out to the backyard which defeats the purpose of trying to train him. Although we gave up after a couple of days, we did have an accident event (too long without taking him out because of the pain of taking the diaper off, Dad came to say hi thinking it was safe because of the diaper, but no), and the absorbing path did not helped much. There is no way to reinforce or add more material to it either. In other words, this diaper does not work for active, healthy, playful dog. I can see how it might be a good option for older dogs.

I am fitting this on a Corgi. His waist is 20 inches. This is a small/medium wrap. Don't let the short legs fool you. He's big dog with short legs. If they were longer he'd be about the size and proportion of a smallish, not overweight, Lab. This fits better than most male wraps I've used. They are on the right track. They just haven't carried the idea quite far enough. The back half serves no useful purpose. I thought it would prevent the wrap from slipping back, but the edges are not stiff enough and they curl up. So the velcro strap slides back to the flanks/hips scooting the forward part out of the intended zone. That's even with the back half tightened with the buttons and elastic. Again a good idea not followed through. I don't know of a single dog that is one size from waist (or just forward of the hips-where all of these male wraps slide back to) forward to where the end of the penis is. I tried putting an Always Maxi Daytime Bladder control pad (next to longest available size) cross wise on the back half and a second one on the front half. Doing it that way, kept the wrap from slipping back out of the target zone. I have tried the "Simple Solution" male wrap- it stayed in place but the back elastic is so tight it made a sore on his belly. I've also tried the Wizzer belly band. Very cute but the "large" is only 4 inches wide. For real? If it would stay in place it would be perfect, but then all of them would. What "large" 20 inch waist dog has a target area of 4 inches? I recommend using a panty liner/bladder control pad with all of them. Or you'll need to have enough extras to make sure you always have a clean one to put on. Good luck. When we got our English Bull Terrier our plan was to keep him in the crate at night until he was fully housetrained, but my boyfriend (being the softy he is) insisted we let him sleep in the bed with us. The first night he peed in our bed twice, which was a nightmare to clean up and fully get out of our comforter, so I knew we had to put something on him if he was going to sleep in the bed. We tried diapers, which didn't completely cover his weewee when he stretched out so we ended up strapping them on him like a disposable male wrap, but they were a little too tight. After those ran out I purchased a reusable male wrap from Walmart, the kind with the bunched up elastic on the side and velcros on the top but even though it was small/medium it was HUGE on him and he was able to slip right out of it, plus it didn't hold pee very well. My search eventually took me to this and I must say, I love it. I'm able to get it tight enough to where he can't slip out of it and it holds pee very well. I simply wash it every day by hand, let it dry and it's good to go the next night. It's very adjustable to your dogs size since the velcro goes all the way around and isn't confined to a limited area so I'm confident that we'll still be able to use it as he gets older. I would definitely say this is worth a try to anyone who has tried other male wraps and have been disappointed.

We are using size 3 baby diapers, trimmed around the edges and cut in half cross wise, as liners. The baby diapers are very absorbent, wick the moisture away keeping our boy dry, and hold a lot of liquid. Using 1/2 diaper per night, we are only spending around $5 a month for great night time protectiion (he sleeps on our bed). We tightened the adjustable buttoned strap two spaces, which created a cupped effect. We put this cupped edge to the front, since the boys pee to the front. This keeps the diaper in place where it counts for added protection. The back edge of the band does curl a bit, but the diaper half never slips. We tighten the band down quite a bit, making sure we can get two fingers under the band easily, so it is not too tight. We got the S/M size which is perfect for our 15 pound wire haired terrier. He is usually 19 pounds, but is ill, 14 years old. The band can adjust several inches either larger or smaller from where we are using it. Since the baby diapers hold so much moisture and have a water proof backing, we have not yet gotten the band wet or had to wash it. We are very happy with the way this is working out for us and our sweet boy.

My review is quite opposite of everyone else's but I really tried to make it work. Tried on 2 different dogs, tried 2 sizes on each dog. Both dogs are very active which is perhaps why it wasn't right for them. It rotates around their bodies so when I remove it their fur is covered in urine. I was hoping it would keep them dry not just stop them peeing in inappropriate places. If your dogs pee just a moderate amount then the outside will get soaked and soggy. BTW, If your dog is skinny but has a large winkie then the smaller size will be too narrow and he will be able to pee right out of it, a bigger size will be too long to wrap around him (sorry for the TMI but its an important detail). I used it both with and without maxi pads inside and either way it was a soggy mess, the inside is slippery fabric so the pad didn't stick well and one of my dogs could pull the pad out. I think you would need to buy several of these and change them very frequently, it takes a while to dry so I'd estimate I would need at least 5 per dog. I'm going to look for a better option, something that doesn't slip around and keeps moisture locked in better or holds a pad better. Faster drying time would be handy too.

I purchased this item because my 15 year old male Shih-Tzu likes to have accidents in the house. There's nothing wrong with him medically, it's a behavioral issue that's been going on for over 9 months. I put a baby diaper in this wrap, rather than let him wet the wrap, thus the need for washing the product on a daily basis. Depending on the day he can go through 0 to 5 diapers. This wrap is very secure over his male 'parts' and is much more effective than a doggie diaper that are primarily designed for the female dog. The strap can be made bigger or smaller depending on your dog's waist. The Velcro is very secure and this product doesn't slip off when he rolls around on the floor. I suggest putting a regular baby diaper inside the wrap; just open up the diaper to fit the length of the wrap. Maxi pads won't work as the 'wing's aren't strong enough. You need to a product that can catch a lot of urine. I'm not sure how well this product would trap full-on accidents as I can't imagine there being no leakage. Without the diaper in place, I believe the wrap would leak. Highly recommend this product if your dog has incontinence or behavioral issues. To me it's much less obvious than putting your dog in a doggie diaper or pants and as long as you get the right size wrap you're dog shouldn't be able to wiggle out.

Our dog has neurological damage and wears wraps. All that needs coverage is where the urine comes out. This is all he needed to not feel so restricted in a full wrap. We bought soft inserts for them as well on here. We will buy them again.

This product has been an absolute god-send. My elderly English Springer Spaniel suddenly became incontinent and that was generating a lot of laundry! After mucking about for a few days with "dog nappies" from "well-known pet superstore" (which were rubbish) we found these wraps on Amazon and I bought TWO. Following the advice of other reviews below, I use the wrap with a standard human incontinence pad one the "absorbent" area (because there's no way it can cope with the volume of wet without that). My dog now wears this wrap + pad combo all the time when he's indoors to prevent drips and full-on bladder emptying when he's asleep. If the wrap becomes wet, it's easy and quick to hand-wash and drip dries over-night. My top tips are: * buy two wraps (or 3 if you can afford) so that you can have one ready if the first one gets damp and needs to be washed * buy Boots female incontinence pads for using with the wrap/belt. (Tenalady are too shaped for boy dogs) Important reminder: Always use a clean pad once the current one becomes slightly damp to keep your dog fresh and hygienic. (And make sure he spends some time each day without it on, for personal grooming/fresh air circulation.)
