Wow! I'm Impressed (with everything about this product)
- July, 2021 Update: I've been so happy with the original two cabinets that I ordered and installed a third. Still the same excellent packaging, no damaged or missing parts, easy assembly and installation - Just a great product! Original Review: After much debate as to whether or not I wanted to spend this much money on cabinets, I went ahead and ordered two. Sure glad I did. The $100 alternatives are a waste of money, cheaply made and don't hold anywhere near the weight that these do. First, they arrived in pristine condition thanks to the industrial strength packaging (thick very heavy duty cardboard, two kinds of rigid protective foam inside, and tough shipping tape on all outside edges). Even our UPS delivery man commented that it was some of the best shipping material he's seen. Prepac is definitely a company that doesn't want any damage returns. Instructions were easy to follow. For those who complained that the pieces weren't pre-marked to match the letter codes on the instruction sheets, I'd say you probably shouldn't be trying to assemble furniture and things like this by yourself. Identifying all the pieces was simple and took less than two minutes. All the hardware was complete and very good quality - never stripped or broke anything. Someone complained that some of the hardware was aluminum - nonsense! The hardest part of installation was deciding exactly where and how high I wanted the cabinets to be. The mounting brackets cut easily with a hacksaw and were bolted to the studs without a problem. Once the cabinets were lifted up onto the mounting brackets, everything felt very sturdy and looked great (see photo). Just make sure you attach the doors AFTER you mount the cabinets on the wall. These cabinets provide a great way to organize the clutter in a garage and they look great (see photo). I'm ready to order two more for another wall.

Nice Product
I purchased 4 of these for my garage. I needed fairly shallow cabinets to fit behind the garage door railing and these worked out well. They arrived in great shape with 2 boxes of parts per cabinet. Note that they are fairly heavy to move around. Assembly is fairly straightforward if you have assembled similar items previously, but it took a little time to sort out the parts and to determine which piece went where. The instructions are pretty clear. All of the pieces fit together well; everything lined up appropriately; didn't have to make any adjustments. After assembling the first one, the others went pretty quickly. Having some decent tools including a driver/drill helps. There are a lot of screws and since the material is particle board you need to be careful not to over-tighten. I used the driver/drill to start the screws and then hand-tightened. The wall mounting bar is sturdy and was easy to fit to the studs. Per the instructions I used a hack saw to trim the end of the last bar; a little work, but not terrible. Hanging the smaller sized cabinets isn't difficult for one person if you leave the doors off. I found that you need to tug the cabinet down a bit over the mounting bar to make sure it is firmly seated. I also put screws through the back panel of the cabinet near the bottom into the studs to make sure the cabinet wouldn't move in case of an earthquake The doors attached easily and the hinge adjustments work well. The handles are nice. Overall these are nice cabinets for a reasonable price. They have a good finish, operate smoothly and were the right size to fit my needs. I would definitely buy them again.

Great for Garage
Better quality than expected. Still had some dings on edges of a couple but theyโre garage shelves.

Prepac is a marvelous company with excellent products
Prepac wall mounted garage cabinets are extremely well designed, with precision drilling for screws and bolts. The assembly instructions are well written and easy to follow. Prepacโs customer service is the best I have ever encountered. While assembling 14 cabinets of various sizes, I have only encountered three instances where a single hardware element was missing from the package. Prepac customer service was responsive and attentive and the missing elements were quickly replaced. In fact, the representative sent an extra element in case I encountered the same issue again before all my cabinets were assembled. 12 of the 14 fully assembled cabinets are installed. When the final 2 are mounted, I will begin assembling the next 6 cabinets to complete my garage installation. Prepac wall mounted garage cabinets are a great value for the price and I would recommend Prepac and their products to anyone and everyone who is looking to add storage capacity in a well designed, sturdy and attractive manner. The three sizes of cabinets I have assembled are the 12 inch deep, the 16 inch deep, and the 20 inch deep. All are 72 inches tall. In addition, I have also assembled two three drawer cabinets (24 inch tall X 16 inches deep) and two short cabinets (24 inch tall X 16 inch deep). The drawers and shorter cabinets add extra functionality to my garage system. Excellent product!

Excellent product but poor response
I am incredibly skeptical when purchasing heavy products that will be sent via UPS. But I must say we have purchased a number of these large cabinets for our garage and there was absolutely NO Damage! Cabinet components were precisely cut and designed in a way to only be assembled the correct way. I know what it takes to make these types of knock down cabinets and Prepac pulled it off perfectly. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. I was missing a few parts but you can order anything you might need on their website. Was very easy! Thank you Prepac team for creating such an excellent product! UPDATE... was missing a couple of bolts and nuts. Prepac has sent me two pieces but upon the near completion of my cabinet assembly, I found two bolts and two nuts missing. So contacted company on their website and they will not send these four little fasteners unless I pay for them. They said the cabinets I purchased through Amazon were evidently returns resold by Amazon. This is a ridiculous response. All the cabinets were delivered in perfect condition via UPS factory packaged. So Prepac must have the Director of Finance handling these simple requests as no sane customer service person would ever reach this conclusion. It's not the cost as they are now charging me for the parts, it is however the principle. I hope they come to their senses as bad reviews travel fast. Love the cabinets, dislike their clumsy response...

Quality Issues - Do NOT Recommend
Initial look, I was satisfied with what I saw. Packaged so it wouldnt move in the box, even UPS damage to the box corners didnt damage the product inside. Instructions well written. What seemed like a good hangar system, designed with flexibility for the fact that no 2 installations are the same. Heavy and style appropriate handles. Glad to see the manufacturer is in Canada (USA would be nice, but CA is ok too.) However, after assembling 8 units, hanging them, adjusting for plumb and getting to the final finishing steps, my satisfaction fell to zero. As I pulled out each door, they were a mess. Half the boxes had sawdust in each door. There was nothing protecting the doors themselves from each other. Each door was scuffed, scratched, or blemished. One door was an obvious manufacturing defect, where the laminate application machine either malfunctioned or the thin laminate tore. The solution was to put on as much as they could and fill in the rest with a paint pen? Hidden back or side, I wouldnt give it a second thought, but this was the door front. There is a ladder pattern up the entire door. Needless to say, Im expecting 16 replacement doors (8 units x 2 doors). I want them in my hands with a few days to get them installed before the return window ends, or Im returning the entire lot of 8 units. If they make good, I will update this review accordingly. Other quality issues included EXTREMELY THIN laminate. I dont believe it will hold up to scratches and light wear and tear. The units are 6ft tall but only have 2 hinges per door. There should be 3. Doors are thin, and when you look down the line of 8 of them like I have, you can see a wobble. I can adjust some of that out, but over time, they will sag and it will look like crap. I will have to add a brace bar to fix. Just more $$. Lastly, these things sway at the bottom. You need to reinforce them by driving a screw through back plate near the bottom into a stud. This made them solid on the wall. There is still some flex in the sides, Im concerned when they get loaded, shelves will sway side to side in the middle (even though secured at the top and bottom). I already ordered replacement L pins because the round ones are junk. So far, the Lowes/Depot higher grade RTA units have much better doors, much thicker laminate that is continuous / molded to the door. None of this sandwich of many pieces. If this doesnt work out, its likely I will return these and buy the Lowes/Depot units. Unfortunately assembly time will be greatly increased as I will have to adjust them for depth because I have very specific dimensions Im trying to achieve, something that drew me to these units in the first place. UPDATE: After speaking with PrePac, the lady was nice, but as a company, PrePac would not stand by their product. The lady I worked with is obviously not the decision maker in this case; I cannot fault her. She stated replacing 16 doors was โexcessiveโ and would require more hoops. I dont have time for hoops. Her offer was to replace a few doors and use a paint pen for the rest. 100% not acceptable. I contacted Amazon, as usual, Amazon had no hassle return for it. I do not need to disassemble. They will pick up, no additional charge. The whole ordeal has cost me multiple holes in my walls, scuffs on the paint, and my time. I will likely cover the holes and paint scuffs with another cabinet product, but I cannot replace my time. I do not recommend this product.

missing parts, scratches and chips
Argh!!! MISSING PARTS!!. The bag with wood screws and other items to hang the cabinet was missing. While customer service will ship you the missing parts, they won't do it overnight. I ordered 2 of these, managed to build one of them, then discovered the missing parts. I was planning to install all in one day, I moved stuff around to clear the garage space, now I have to leave my garage messy while waiting for the parts, and then spend another day finishing it up. As other reviewers have mentioned, packaging is not the best. The boards are stacked together in the packaging without anything between them, hence you'll see some scratches. The most annoying would be scratches on the door where it cannot be hidden. Chips here and there, nothing too major for me because most of them will be covered (not visible). The door panels seems somewhat warped as I had to adjust both the top and bottom door hinges quite a bit outwards so that there is gap in the middle of the door (otherwise the middle of the door rubs against the cabinet). Other than that, installation is simple enough. Looks nice.

Easy assembly and holds a lot
This is the second PrePac shelving Iโve purchased. The other was a smaller cabinet to place over my workbench. As the prior cabinet, this tall cabine was just as easy to put together although it would help to have a second person help hold pieces while you screw them together since some of the pieces are long. Since itโs taller and overall bigger, itโs a bit of a challenge to hoist up on the wall rail due to its extra weight. I mounted it about 10โ off the floor and used a hydraulic car jack with a 2x4 across the bottom and lifted it up that way. Otherwise you really would need 2 people to left it up even without the doors attached. Once installed, I love the looks, sturdiness, the fit and finish. Iโm glad got the deeper shelving which accommodates a lot of stuff in my garage. And is nice to be able to store things behind closed doors vs open shelves. Just makes things neater all around. I plan on getting some more. I also like the fact that there is no back. I had things in the wall that I didnโt want to be blocked such as a GFCI plug. It allowed me to put the cabinet where it would fit the best and I did t have to worry about it getting in the way.

simple to install
Exactly what I wanted. Came in two boxex that were somewhat heavy. Great instructions made assembly easy. Once complete (without doors or shelves) neighbor cam to help lift up to the hanging bar. Few minutes more to instal doors and shelves. Spacious interior handle all of my needs +. Recommend it.

Great Quality Product
After reading a number of somewhat negative reviews, I was a little hesitant to order these units. As I need something shallow, this was about all I could find that was near what I needed. I'm glad that I order these cabinets. First of all, the cabinet(s) will arrive in two boxes which makes perfect sense as the weight of each is over 47Kgs (104 lbs for our southern friends). They are sturdy but still can be installed by one person; I'm 67 years old and had no problem with these. Assembly and installation of 4 cabinets took about 4 1/2 hours by myself. As with all knock down furniture, inventory and sort the hardware first. Saves a lot of time along the way. The quality of hardware and wood products is excellent. Partical board is used for it's stabilty as opposed to hardwood which I read in a review would be desirable.....expensive and tends to warp & twist. As mentioned, there is no back in the cabinets, but it really isn't needed. Secure the bottom backplate to wall to square and secure the cabinet; this removes the chance of things shifting out of square. The door hinges require adjusting as will all european design hinges. This is a simple process which is well explained in the instructions. I apologize if this review seems sarcastic and demeaning but by the petty comments and complaints that I read prior to purchasing, I'm not sure what some expect. This is a great product that requires a basic skill set to assemble and install. It may be a little heavy and awkward but I assure you, the finished product is worth the effort.

very sturdy and strong
Using this as a hanging pantry in my basement stairwell - it works great as its narrow but tall and stores a lot of items. I wish it came with more shelves, but we made ones by cutting down MDF boards to fit to size. wish there was a single-door cabinet option too!

Difficult to install, too heavy and a bad choice
I had a professional person come to install it. It is a difficult one to install. They did it but probably either didnโt do a good job or there is a manufacturing defect. The doors are not balanced and the shelves come loose off its pegs. Got two two dishes!
