An absolute lifesaver! If your dog doesn't chew, look no further!
Firstly, if you're anything like me your first thought is that this is too good to be true. Secondly, I don't normally do reviews so this in itself means I want to get my words out there. My dog is an 11 year old German Shepherd whose never had anything wrong with her and never had a surgery aside from getting fixed needed a surgery. I'll spare you details but she had to have exploratory surgery which means pretty large cuts near her lady bits and tummy. She has 21 staples as well as a drainage tube. The vet gave me one of those plastic cones, which I tried putting on her and while she was still getting over the anesthesia.. . She was horrified and seemed to almost do more harm than good. She was like a cat trying to back up in a corner and tear it off. So I looked only and found a comfy cone, bought that and took off work the next two days so I could watch her. Comfy cone comes in and I tried putting that on her. Yeah, no way. I'm gonna be honest, I'm an absolute sucker when my dog is in pain or uncomfortable so I did what they tell you NOT to do,take it off. If you're anything like me you already feel horrible about taking your dog to the vet. So I looked around and saw this recovery suit. Yeah no way too good to be true. At this point, I said screw it because two cones weren't working and we have two weeks to get through which I sure cannot take off two weeks to watch her. I ordered it, got it quickly within 2 days thanks to Prime. I put it on her which it fit absolutely perfectly. My dog is 85 pounds and I bought a large. I read the reviews and someone said the quality wasn't worth the money and the sizing was off. Not sure where they got that because I don't think the quality is bad at all. It feels exactly like a onesy that you buy a toddler. It has butt snaps too! It completely covers her tummy and lady area so it was perfect. Not too tight on her arms or leg holes either. I've never really put clothes on her so I didn't know what was gonna happen. Nothing.. Nothing happened. That was 4 days ago and she's left her staples alone ever since. I keep it on her while I'm at work, block off the stairs and she doesn't even itch. We have cameras in our house so I keep checking in while at work and you'd never even know she had surgery. I hate to sound like just another pandering review here but it saved her! She's completely comfortable and not in a scary cone. My girl never was a real chewer so I can see why some people didn't like the product if their dog ate it. If your dog is a chewer, maybe not the best idea but that has nothing to do with the product itself. If your dog is a chewer don't put something on them that they can chew! Duh guys! I know for me, this product helps me sleep at night knowing she won't mess with her 21 staples and I can go back to concentrating on work (gottta get the money back for the surgery too of course). I personally would like to thank whoever came up with this idea, it's brilliant and I'd love to buy you a beer. If you're debating on this product and your dog doesn't chew stuff, buy it! You will be so thankful. It's the most comfortable they can be while having to deal with staples or stitches. Just make sure you take it off before you let them out because it covers the dirty business end of the dog. For me, it's a routine when I get home.. "hi mom I didn't mess with my staples but I gotta pee so take this off!" done. Thank you so much for making such a simple yet effective product I'll forever be thankful!!

Get This for Post-Surgery!!!
I ordered several other brands when prepping for my boy's neuter, but none of them fit. I happened upon the Suitical...it was what I was looking for! My standard Aussie is a very slim 50lbs, so requires a Medium in most brands; however, he is very long, which most Medium sizes were way too short. Sizing up in other brands just didn't work. But, the Suitical offered a Medium and a Medium+, which offered the extra length needed. Even with the extra inches, the length is still adjustable with the two sets of snaps. My boy doesn't seem to mind wearing it at all. In fact, he much happier than wearing his flexible cone or his donut. It allows him to move easily, doesn't get in the way or block his view, and allows him to drink and eat like normal. I love it because it's stretchy and easy to put on, despite his wiggliness. It covers his three incision sites completely without rubbing against them, and the suit is just fitted enough that he can't get to them. It's soft and has a cottony feel, which makes it comfortable for him, but seems durable. He's wrestled with his sister, and the suit stayed in place. Very happy with this product!

Durable, works, fits and comfortable. Highly reccomend!
I have owned dogs for 37 years and have been a breeder and trainer for 15 years. I have used multiple items over the years after surgeries and like this one the best. I've tried the doughnut, plastic cone and soft cones. This suit is made with cotton and performed better than I expected. I bought the XL size to fit my 2.5 year old 67lb standard poodle who was being neutered and also having gastropexy. Gastropexy is a surgical procedure performed in dogs with larger chests to prevent gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV), commonly known as bloat. I needed to cover his stomach and privates. The suit covered both spots well! I brought the suit with me when picking my boy up from the vets office. The vet technician put it on him before I took him home. It was easy to put on and the vet tech said she thought it was a good quality surgical suit and she has seen many. I like that the opening in the back to go to the bathroom had snaps not Velcro as sometimes dogs get afraid of the sound Velcro makes when its pulled apart. When I removed the surgical suite from the box I noticed that it has a pocket for an ice pack in the tummy area. I don't remember reading that when I purchased it and thought that was a nice feature, however as I didn't need to use ice I don't have any feedback on that functionality of the suit. My boy wore the suit for 12 days straight. He did lick the suit off and on where he had surgery until I would catch him and tell him to stop. The suit would stay a little wet but didn't seem to bother him and dried nicely. When you bring the dog out to go to the bathroom, you unsnap the back and roll it up. There is a tab that you use to snap it in place. I did notice for the boys that the bottom/underside didn't pull up far enough on the body nor have a snap for the underside so I rolled it up and tucked the snapped flaps into the armpit area so the pee stream would not hit the back flaps as they would hang down from his tummy. I washed the suit in semi-warm water and air dried. It came out just fine.

Will Buy Again
I bought this for my male Basset Hound, post neuter surgery. We put a Comfy Cone on him and one of my other dogs didn't like it when he was wearing the cone and kept attacking him. We needed to find an alternative. This suit did the trick. He took one sniff in the suture area, realized he couldn't get to them, and I never saw him try to lick the sutures again. He seemed really comfortable in the suit and it was really easy to snap and unsnap for potty time. He still wears the cone at bedtime and when he goes outside to go potty - if we aren't with him. He wears a diaper because we have an intact female in the house (his daughter) and he marks, this suit fits just fine over the diaper. The only critique I have, is that for potty time, there's really no way to easily secure the flaps. The snaps on the chest are difficult to get to - in my opinion. Unfortunately, his daughter kept trying to disrobe him and kept grabbing hold of the tag. Eventually, she ripped it off and now there's a big hole in the shoulder. I should be able to sew it though and use the suit when we get her spayed, in a month or two. I will likely even buy one or two more suits, since we know in advance that we will be using them. I think this suit is a great alternative to the cone, for times when you will be around. I wouldn't trust it for long periods when they are alone (such as bedtime), because I doubt that it would hold up to much chewing. But, it's definitely a deterrent and worth buying, in my opinion.

Exactly the same as the ones from the vet
Our boxer had bladder surgery and needed something to keep his incision from being exposed and protected. They gave us a cone and we all know how that works out. We had to return and they added a few staples to the area and we needed to keep manooka honey on it for healing so they gave us a surgery suit while there. Obviously having only one wouldn’t work so looked at a few and this one was almost identical to the one that we had. My boy is about 70lbs and shorter than his brother but the large fit almost perfect and easy to work with to let him use the bathroom. Just unsnap and roll/fold the ends up the torso. Best thing ever for any surgery to keep it from being exposed or keep it protected. The other benefits are keeping their wounds from allowing discharge to get on furniture or anywhere. This suit is the best so far. It doesn’t affect him at all. Very pleased with the quality and fitment. Would recommend

Fit and worked well for my German Shepherd
Worked well for my 80+ pound German Shepherd. I used it in combination with a donut and later with a cone. It was easy to on and off and easy to clean. My dog didn’t seem to mind wearing it and he can be picky. I bought 2 so he could wear one while I cleaned the other. It would be nice if there was more ability to adjust the fit / length around the tail. I found it was too baggy between his legs at times so he was able to get to the protected area after being neutered.

Sizing is a little wonky…
I have a 75 lb female Labrador, age 1 1/2. She was spayed recently and I got this suit for her as an alternative to wearing a cone. Fabric is soft and pattern is cute. My dog didn’t mind wearing it. She likes the quiet snaps as she’s not a fan of Velcro. Main issue with the suit is the sizing. I went with a Large. She is 18” neck, 31” chest, 33” length. Neck and chest are a good fit. But it ended up being baggy around her hips and rear. I had hoped that the snaps would have allowed for more sizing customization but there are only two options both of which are too loose for her. This also means that she can stick her nose into the back leg holes which is a bummer. I think that the sizing would be good for dogs who are shaped like a rectangle meaning that the chest and hips are even in size. If you’re looking for a suit for a puppy with a broad chest and slim hind quarters— I’d skip this suit.

Perfect alternative to the cone
I recently adopted Charlie from a shelter and he had been neutered a few days prior. He had a plastic cone to prevent him from licking his incision and I could tell that it was making him a bit more anxious as he adjusted to his new home. I found a recommendation on Reddit to get him a Suitical suit and boy am i glad i did! I could tell he felt more relaxed being out of the cone. The sizing guide was pretty accurate as the XXS fit perfectly on him (13 lb Chihuahua mix with a 13 inch back). I originally bought one but after he peed on the straps (my fault for not rolling it up tighter during potty time), I decided to buy a second one so i could swap them out between washings. A bit more pricer for a temporary situation but I didn't mind. The quality of the suits are decent and hold up well. A bit of pilling on the fabric but again, it's for his recovery, not fashion.

Excellent quality
Our bulldog was spayed so needed something to cover her tummy scar for a few days. My advice would be to measure your pet correctly to achieve a perfect fit. I did find putting the suit on upside down worked for us so the clip to pull the suit up so they can pee pee etc was onher back rather than on her tummy scar. But overall I do recommend as it did the job and washed beautifully
