Do The clippers heat up and does it take a while to cool down?

No ....I use these clippers at least 9 hrs a shift...Best clippers I've ever owner! Don't let the low price fool you...NOTHING CAN COMPARE

Where does this ship from?

The US, but made in China, like everything else. People buy in bulk and post on Amazon to sell.

Any difference between silver and gold models?

The gold one goes for $36.99 with a $10 coupon = $26.99 here on Amazon. The silver one is $41.99. The silver model number is K9S. The gold’s model is K7S. The Silver one is probably better.
