The extended shaver works great. It does take practice. Using the wider attachment is a little hard on my skin, once I got used to it. It worked great. I would give it a 4 STAR. I did purchase three other items at the same time. The head shaver, the ear & nose trimmer, and the body groomer. The body groomer works good But it did pull a few hairs. So it too, requires practice. I would give it a 4 STAR. The nose and ear trimmer SUCKS ASS!!! Don’t buy. For that trimmer, don’t waste your energy buying it. It will disappoint. I would not give a 1 STAR. Later on I purchased some Bluetooth Wi-Fi smart tweezers, they work great with my cell phone for my nose and ear hairs. Next the body trimmer it works great while giving a good shave real close to your balls. Most of all it takes practice. So take your time. An electric shaver near my balls is kind of scary. Especially when it pulls a hair or two and it did. I would give the body trimmer a 4 STAR. Now for the complaints, you already know how I feel about the nose trimmer. Next The head shaver I used it once, Then it died and never worked again and that sucks because I liked it. I would give it a 4.5 STAR. But It quit working so a 1 STAR, unless you have a head trimmer that keeps working then it’s a 4.5 STAR. Well, I hope the company MANGROOMER. Takes care of me on their platinum pro edition’s. If not I’ll never change this post. But I was told that if you have a problem, man-groomer wants you to contact them directly. So they can take care of it for you. I don’t know. I will give it a try. I only ask because I am over my return time with Amazon. Like I was only going to use the head shaver twice a year. But after the first time I used it, it died. After all I bought the Platinum Pro Edition by Man-Groomer shaver and trimmers. So I expected it to work as advertised it was the best they had. I will post a new statement if they take care of me as a loyal customer thank you. Good luck.

The PLATINUM PRO is my second MANGROOMER after the battery died in my MANGROOMER ULTIMATE PRO that I had purchased from drugstore.com back in 2014. The PLATINUM PRO works great and the supine re-charging cradle is a big improvement over the teetering upright cradle of the ULTIMATE PRO. I also love that the PLATINUM PRO simplified things by getting rid of the Power Burst button that I used 100% of the time with the ULTIMATE PRO since the unit seemed too week to operate without it. The PLATINUM PRO is ergonomic, compact, and powerful and gets the job done comfortably and in a jiffy. Although the PLATINUM PRO is generally larger in size than the ULTIMATE PRO, it is still very comfortable to use. The body groomer (foil end) of the PLATINUM PRO appears to be about the same width as the ULTIMATE PRO but with a beefier head. However, the body trimmer end of the PLATINUM PRO is much wider than the ULTIMATE PRO which makes grooming faster and more efficient by covering more surface area. Also, the PLATINUM PRO body trimmer has an extra length setting (8 notches total); the ULTIMATE PRO has only 7 settings. And the quick charge lithium max ion battery inside the PLATINUM PRO does not seem to drain no matter how long I use it! Finally, I love the bonus travel case which allows me to store spare parts from my new PLATINUM PRO as well as my legacy ULTIMATE PRO that I ceremoniously laid to rest. I paid $49.99 for my ULTIMATE PRO back in 2014 and paid $49.17 for my PLATINUM PRO in 2020; six years later the price is still the same and the quality much improved! Thank you MANGROOMER!!!

Previously I wrote regarding my dislike for the New Platinum Mangroomer after which I set it aside and did not use again until this weekend. I dislike it even more now as my old Mangroomer way outperformed the Platinum. I did, however, make an interesting discovery. I took the Platinum wide trimmer and attached it to the old Mangroomer and discovered it cut better without pulling hair. I then looked at the new unit and it seems to have less power which I feel causes the pulling of hair without cutting it smoothly. I am somewhat disappointed that Mangroomer does not review our posts and try to reach out to their customers and discuss their products further and try to make improvements. In light of all this I will now seek a return through Amazon and become an ex-customer of Mangroomer. I cannot remember ever writing a negative post like this in the past and hopefully they can improve their offering.

I like the fact that does it’s job for what the product is intended to do. Having said that, this is my 3rd body groomer, as they all malfunction for one reason or another. 1st one, the power button failed in less of a year’s use! Could never replace it cause I bought it from eBay & Mangroomer wouldn’t honor the waranty, stating that it wasn’t from an approved seller. 2nd, the trimmer stopped charging within a couple of days of purchase! Since I purchased through Amazon it was replaced immediately. 3rd, I’ve been using it for a little over 2 years & the pivoting head mechanism broke! A tiny piece broke off of it. I know it’s 2 years, but in total I’ve used this product at most twice a month, & most of the time just once, cause it’s a timely event every time I decide to use it. In total over 2 years I’ve used this product maybe 50 to 60 times at most, & I just don’t think that it’s durable enough to use the amount of times needed to be groomed to one’s liking! Apparently they’re a little flimsy, & I know cause I have a collection of their products, & they all fail prematurely. I love their products for their intended use, but I’ve finally come to the conclusion, that for the money I’ve paid through the years, their products just don’t stand up to the test of time!

It was very easy to use. It took me all of an hour & a half to do my whole body with the exception of my head, neck & everything above that point. It's definitely not for shaving beards or trimming mustaches but everything else it mows down quite nicely. May need to use some sort of shaving cream or lubricant like lectric shave to ease the shaving chore but it handled my lawmowing chores with easy! The only drawback is that the power button gets triggered often while trimming due to the way it's being held but that is a minor setback. Just turn it back on & continue! Battery life was excellent because it held a charge from the moment I opened the package. It didn't really need to be charged for my first use but only a few minutes & < than 5 minutes tops. Very satisfied with this product.

In my opinion, this is the best body-hair shaver/trimmer on the market. I have tried several other products, usually because they are gifts, but this one has worked the best of them all. As others have stated, there is a learning curve when it comes to the sensitive areas of your body, so it is best to go slow at first and don't rush it, and watch the angle of the blade on the shaver because too steep of an angle in relation to the skin can gouge. I purchased the original "Ultimate Pro" by Mangroomer long ago when it first came out, and that product also worked really well but eventually it started to fail, but since it lasted for more than 15+ years, I am hoping that this new "Platinum Pro" will continue with the same record of endurance. The new purchase charges really fast and battery lasts long enough to do the shaving and trimming in multiple areas of the body without having to recharge in the middle of the job. Lastly, a big plus to the purchase is the quality of the customer service you receive when you purchase a Mangroomer product. If for any reason you have any questions or experience any problems with your Mangroomer product, the customer service representatives are quick to respond and go above and beyond what the customer service departments do of all, if not most, companies do these days. For me, you can't lose when you purchase this product.

One half works. If you want to get groomed down to a very short beard or, other areas, it works pretty well. BUT use the other side? Now things are sketchy. The parts you REALLY would like to use the foil groomer on, they have what is essentially a small sickle bar mower on each side of the foil blade. NOW I get it, you want to get the hairs down close so they fit in the foil. BUT the darn thing has the Sickle bar on both sides. If you don't know what a sickle bar mower is, its the one they use on a big tractor to mow or hay with. There is a bar of stationary teeth and a bar that runs under that with teeth that go back and forth, really fast. On flat surfaces thats fine. Offer anything with a wrinkle in it and that wrinkle is gonna get a trimming. The blood stops fairly quickly but I'd rather wax. Top that off with the on/off buttons for both sides of the unit are on the top the curve side of it SO if you want any dexterity with this rather large, double ended flail mower, you naturally put your fingers in the middle where the buttons are. SO, get situated, get close and yup, you'll turn it off. Then a smart man will pull out, start the razor and then get back in position. When it happens again a DUMMY will say, heres the button, move the angle and YUP, more blood. It'd be one thing to do this on the side of your body where you have a perfect view of what your doing, and it works with face shavers. But anywhere below the waste and you're asking for trouble. Top that off with Mine will be working fine then the Foil razor side will just got into weird oscillations like somethings loose BUT nothing is loose on the outside. You want to trim your head hair, it's got what you need for that. You want to trim your OTHER head hair, it's at your own risk.

Started terrible noise and viberation like generator. Can’t touch with body anymore. Another surprise to know that it was not covered under warranty.
