It’s a real BIG sized proper Bug Hotel at when you get it you realise that it was at a very very reasonable price! It’s incredibly well built & it’s sturdy & it has a decent metal weatherproof roof on it too. All that I’ve done is I’ve just put a good number of coats of clear odourless varnish on it especially on the back the sides & the bottom as this is going up on a the lower part of a small length of brick wall that the rain will dribble down upon (I’m placing it low as that’s where bugs are mainly thinking about it, they never nest too high up) & this length of wall it’s right in between a couple of trees & a length of Fuchsia bushes so it’ll attract wildlife & I’ll stick a hanging basket above to attract bees & butterflies & with the tree & bushes I’ll place a Bird House I got here of Amazon up on the wall with the flower basket or baskets & this big Bug Hotel to make the wall more garden & wildlife friendly. These are actually very decent boxes for the price you pay for them & they’re made from friendly sustainable wood too, I’m really looking forward to seeing what comes to fruition with this Bug Hotel over the next few months & hopefully years!

I bought this in July 2021. Almost 3 years ago. This has stood the test of time, and we've had some wasps and solitary bees fill up the holes in the past years, and this year leafcutter bees have taken up a lot of the holes. After 3 years outside in all sorts of UK weather, it has now started to show evidence of wear and tear, so we'll replace it with a new one of the same product in autumn. It's bigger than most "excel" sized bug hotels, and it's metal roof has kept it dry all these years. And the hanging capability is a definite plus! It has more than paid for the cost in value. I absolutely love it.

I bought this as a retirement present. It looks lovely and I'm sure it will do what it says but as I pulled it out of the box I cut myself because the wire mesh has metal bits sticking up( see photo,) it was more than one too. Before I bought it I read the reviews and this was mentioned on one that I saw but I did think it may have been rectified. The other thing I noticed was that it's made in China. It's from a UK based company. A family run business in Herne Bay so I presumed it was British. I like to support small British businesses. Nowhere could I see that they had imported it. All that said I'm keeping it as I am 100% positive that it will be gratefully recieved.

Wonderful. We hung it in our tree and hope the Bees come to stay. Easy to put up and ever so good looking!

This appears to be well made and the metal roof should make it more waterproof. The ones I've had before tend to rot on the back panel so I gave this a coat of paint before I put it up. Within an hour I had bees checking it out. Very pleased with it and have ordered another one.

Sturdy insect house with a steel roof. Looks like it will last a few years. Gave it a light varnish so that it's better protected.

Wir sind wirklich begeistert von unserem Bienenhotel. Die Wildbieben nehmen das Hotel sehr gut an. Wir haben täglich viele Bienen auf dem Balkon und ca 1-2 neue verschlossene Nester. Wir haben es anfangs in erster Linie geholt um mehr Bienen zu unserem Gemüsegarten zu locken, jedoch haben wir uns nun ein zweites geholt, da es so gut angenommen wird, um den Wildbienen mehr Möglichkeiten zu bieten um sich zu vermehren!
