Absurdly Bright, Design Oversight with Mounting Mechanism
April 2025 Update: Still going strong, zero issues with water intrusion, still unbelievably bright. Cyclists now ask me to use the lower settings if in tight quarters. I've used all light settings and the range is excellent for all conditions. Charge keeps for up to 1 week with 1-2 hours of use per day. Purchased April 2023 I ride daily in NYC, and *in* traffic, since bike lanes are often overcrowded with confused ridersโarguably just as dangerous as cars at times. The Hypershot 350 is actually 1 of 2 rear lights on the bike (again, I ride in traffic). It is fully visible in daylight, and unavoidable at night. I have not walked back to gauge the total distance it is visible, but I have stopped mid-street on avenues and observe the red flicker on street signs *at least* 1/4 of a mile back. If you stand 30 feet behind it, it is practically blinding. Other comments suggesting its brightness looks like an ambulance from a distance are accurate. Received multiple comments from cyclists in daylight hours "wow, that is extremely bright" and "it was so bright I had to slow down and put more distance between me and you." Excellent visibility aside, there are two ways of mounting: a vertical clip; and a lateral (side to side) release of the clip itself. The latter is completely unnecessary, and the light fell off the bike mid-ride three times before I forced the lateral mechanism shut. No issues with the charging port cover, but I see the frailty of it may become an issue; be gentle or the rubber stop will come out, and you will pain yourself to reattach it. Too many lighting options; I only use two (random strobing, pulsing flash). Highly recommended. Absolutely makes riding safer. Waterproof. Video includes use of both the Hypershot 350 (seat post mount) *and Hypershot 150.

Cygolite Hypershot โ 350 Lumen Bike Tail Light
I don't bike much but realize it's important to be seen both day and night. I have witnessed people on bikes without lights or lights that were so dim during the day that i thought why bother; one I believe was even a "brake light" type of rear light that barely got brighter when stopping - this is not dim. I haven't used it on the bike yet but indoors this light is bright; it projected light at least 25 feet with a large spot of red light on the wall. It can change speed of the flashes in flash modes and the light brightness for the steady on & buzz mode; I'm thinking that even at the lowest light brightness if another biker is behind you it'll be too bright because of the way it projects the light.. I bought it for the daytime flash mode, the ability to change the brightness and flash speeds. It has a clip to put it on a bike bag that's mounted behind or under the seat (have to hold keys somewhere! :-) ). It came almost fully charged but I did have to top it off but it was a quick top off. It seems to be a well built product and hopefully it'll last a while. I know there are higher lumen taillights than this one but if this projects as well outside in day light as it did in the house it''ll be a great taillight.

Cygolite Hypershot 350 & 250 Lumen Bicycle Taillight- 2 is better than one!
One thing you need to know, is that this tail light is, in a word, bright! Has a generous number of modes, adjustable brightness and reasonable battery life depending on how you adjust it (the product insert is pretty much right on and the battery performs well over time). Useful certainly at night, but also provides great visibility during the day on those narrow single lane roads where cars go way too fast. With this light, they must see me because they noticeably slow down (I know, don't you wish they'd slow down more often!). Paired with a Cygolite front light in blinking mode, daytime visibility is guaranteed. I've used other brands, but have now transitioned all our bikes to Cygolite. After nearly a year on the road this light is really holding up!

Really really bright.
Insanely bright which is good on the road, but my friends say it's almost too bright when following me.

Love this light!
This light is amazing and I felt seen. When I'm riding solo, cars rarely ever get up on my rear wheel anymore. I think this light is so bright that they just dont want to be right behind me. I felt seen I the daylight and I felt seen from half a mile away when it's pitch black out. I love the various mixes - important to me as I turn it solid during group rides so not to blind the other riders. And then the various blinking modes for when I'm riding solo. My only gripe about this - and I didn't deduct a star because the light is that good - is the mounting hardware. You have to purchase an external piece of hardware I'd you want to mount it to an aero seatpost. I feel this should come with this light to match current bike trends. I was able to rig something up on my own and it works, bit that was a minor annoyance. Get this light though, it rocks!

Stunning brightness, flimsy mounting hardware
Wow this baby is bright. If you bike on busy high speed roads this is a must. I have a seemee300 for steady beam (important for drivers to assess distance from you) and this to catch their attention. Only negative is the mounting hardware is cheap and flimsy. Definitely a bummer for the price and cygolite reputation.

Save your life, or life of your loved one !
As a former Emergency Medical Tech, I have seen more than my share of heartbreak over the years. While I live in a rural area, I spend a good amount of time riding my eBike in multiple busy cities, with automobiles flying by me. Over the last year I have been searching and purchasing safety lights to maximize my chance of surviving a potential injury by make certain that I AM VISIBLE to vehicles that I share the roadway with, hopefully avoiding a collision in the first place. This strobe (350 lumen model) has multiple presentations - some are more visible for daytime riding, while others are almost so bright, to be offensive to those coming up from behind me at night. GREAT!!!! While it solidly connects to a post that can be permanently mounted to your bike, the unit itself has a clip which you can attach to a backpack for your student walking home to keep them safe. More impressive, is that with the remote charging, using a C-cord, depending on which mode you're using, you can get hours and hours of use in between charges. I can also assure you that this would be ideal for hikers and snowboarders, as the strobe can be seen from the air. Save your life, or life of your loved one ! BUY IT! If you find something even better that is also cost efficient, please post it here for all of us to see. Thanks!

Very high lux hotspot, probably the brightest of them all. Uses an orangey red emitter
2 reasons why this is extremely bright. A is that it has a concentrated hotspot, ie very high lux (not talking about lumens). This is the value that you get on lux meters, the amount of light that you get at a certain spot some distance away. B is that it uses an orangey red emitter, easily 5-10 nm wavelength lower than other red LEDs. So your eye perceives it as brighter (brightest is at 555nm / green colour), more efficient use of power etc. I use 2 of these 350s as the hotspot is elliptical in shape and horizontally is 10 deg spread and vertically is 5 deg spread. So 2 of these gives me a 20 degrees horizontal coverage. I also use 2pcs of Magicshine Seemee 300 for even wider coverage esp with its additional Optic-trace LED firing sideways as i mount those horizontally on the back of my saddle (on a horizontal bar facing the rear). Need to fine tune a bit the vertical angle, the jagged teeth of the vertical angle adjustment is pretty "rough" and ends up either aiming the light too upwards or too downwards, esp for 1 of my light. I end up sticking some pcs of foam tape in between the clip on the light to serve as spacers so that the angle can be further fine tune. Very good light, you will be seen during day time. Use the STEADY mode for night time use, the intensity can be fine-tuned to a pretty low level. I think the run time for STEADY mode @ 350 lumens thereabouts (yes, full intensity) is 2hrs. This is one of the rare lights that you can run at max power in steady mode and still not overheat. AND also it can accept being plugged to a power bank and the light still stays lit, thereby prolonging the runtime a lot and limited by your powerbank only.

Will get you noticed
Very , very bright. I do alot of city communting, and keep a eye on my left mirror always, noticed right off, people give me more space. Only thing that needs improvement is change from micro usb to C. Came with 2 mounts, very secure on bicycle, quick release makes it easy to connect/disconnect. You get what you pay for, will defently get you noticed.
