Goo Gone Automotive Adhesive Remover Spray Gel

I'm going to give this a 50/50 so far. It's a gel substance which has some kind of oil as a mixture, but it sprayed out fine. The goo I'm trying to remove is a sticky residue from a vinyl wrap which I had removed with a heat gun months prior. The quickest method was with a toothbrush and a regular scrubber sponge. Results are mixed. The goo sort of came off in patches and in others sort of hazed over but didn't remove anything. So I have to do the glass again (rear window/back rear passenger windows) because the glue residue is still there. I think the key is spraying the glass and then hitting it with the scrubber a bit then letting it sit (easier said than done in Florida heat) and then go at it again with scrubber. I thought it would go faster but for me that wasn't the case. I'm giving 3 stars because the substance is mildly difficult to remove. It's a whole production to remove. As opposed to taking it into a shop to get it done, I'd rather do it myself, but the results vary. Especially for me that thought this was a quick thing. Bottle size is a bit smaller than a typical spray bottle, but it's so oily it can last. Value is only determined by results and my results are meh. It could be my method that didn't work so I'll give it another shot and then I'll update review. Maybe, maybe not since that's just what you'll all be expecting me to do... All seriousness, 50/50 on recommendation. ** Update 4/24/26 Ok, I had said I'd update it and change rating, and so I did. The product works, my initial technique didn't. This isn't something you just spray on, rub around a little and then wash off. It has an oil base that will fog glass and metal. This is what worked for me: Spray onto glass (if it gets on metal doesn't do anything) then use a regular kitchen sponge with scrubber and scrub in circular motion. Leave it there. Just do circular motions for a little, covering the whole area you are working on. Then run side to side with scrubber and let it sit about 5 minutes while you rummage in your pockets for a lighter, because you know you have it but can never remember where you put it. Then get some paper towel and wad up a whole bunch in your hand, and wipe off the excess oil off whatever surface you are working with. Then: Get a bucket of hot water, throw in some good detergent, we use the one with the duckling on it, and a rag. Go at the area, soap it up good. Do the areas around it that could have gotten splashed by the goo oil. Get it there. Then when that's done, wash it off and if you want, hit it again with another wad of paper towel or rag. Bam. Crystal clear. The product is good, I was initially wrong. I'd recommend it. I used a bunch and the bottle is still full, so this size will last. I was also removing vinyl wrap residue and dirt that had gotten stuck to it. Baked on in Florida heat. This did the trick so I'm pretty sure sticker residue will come right off. Try it.

I used this to remove leftover adhesive residue from the exterior of my car after peeling off an old sticker. The spray gel was easy to apply and stayed where I sprayed it instead of running everywhere, which made it easier to work with. After letting it sit for a short time, the residue wiped away much more easily than I expected. I followed up with a clean microfiber cloth, and the surface looked clean without leaving a greasy film behind. The citrus scent was noticeable but not overwhelming. The bottle feels sturdy, the trigger sprayer worked well, and a little product went a long way for my small cleanup job. Based on my experience, it’s a handy product to keep around for removing sticky residue from a vehicle and feels well worth the price.

I was able to take off a bug deflector strip. I definitely used some elbow grease as well but it came off with no damage to the car paint or myself. I also used it to take off a window decal and it made the job easier. A very helpful item to have around.

It worked to get the annoying white plastic sticker off the front bumper of my Mini Cooper Countryman. I was very concerned about using something that wouldn’t ruin the finish of the car and so used ChatGPT to research options. I had regular Goo Gone, but it advised against this. The problem I had was it took lots and lots of the product and waiting and running with a sponge to get the sticker off. It didn’t dissolve the way paper does. I had to rub and peel it. It kept ripping. I didn’t want to use a razor blade for fear of scraping the finish, so I used my fingernails. Do not do this in a garage, because all the excess runs onto the floor, which you then have to clean. Do it outside, where you can easily hose down the area. All in all, it worked, but I blame Carvana for not taking care of this before delivering the car and making me go through this.

I’m so glad they finally put goo gone in a spray bottle! Great bang for buck, residue is easy to clean, excellent at removing stains, very effective!

I bought this hoping it would remove fresh pine sap from my car. It didn't really work very well for that...it took a lot of elbow grease to the point where I think using water might've worked just as well; however, I had some black industrial street tar splattered across the bottom right side of my car for YEARS. I'd given up hope on ever getting it to come off...I'd even put on car polish on top of it while waxing the rest of the car as an act of defeat...but seriously, 1 or 2 squirts of this stuff and it was wiping off like butter...no seriously it was like butter. After cleaning the worst spot, I regretted not taking a "before" picture because it came completely off. I did take before and after pics on the rear fender and that's what I'm sharing on this review. The white scratches are damage from someone sideswiping me a few years ago...it didn't remove those...

I really thought that this product would actually remove pine sap from my vehicle, but it absolutely, positively, did not work. I tried it on older, dried pine sap. Nope I tried it on fresh, sticky pine sap. Nope I put it directly on the sap and tried to rub the sap away. Nope I put it directly on the sap and let it sit for an hour and then tried to remove the sap. Nope I used a microfiber cloth. Nope I used a warm wet washcloth. Nope I used paper towels. Nope I tried it with sap that is on the windshield. Nope I tried it with sap that is on the body of the car. Nope I tried it with sap that was on the rubber gaskets, and the door handles, and the plastic headlight covers. Nope Goo Gone should be ashamed of themselves for advertising this product as a pine sap remover. It doesn't work. Don't try it. Don't buy it. I have lived in my home for 40 years, and my beautiful pine tree drips every summer. I park on the street when I can, but the pine tree is directly over my driveway and sometimes I have to park there . During the 40 years that I have been removing pine sap from my vehicles, the only thing that works, with a lot of elbow grease, is rubbing alcohol. I was hoping that the Goo Gone would work, but it looks like I will going back to the alcohol and elbow grease.

I got this to remove the sticky residue left behind from a car lip (spoiler) so I could remove the stock one and put a new one on. It worked good enough to remove the sticky left behind, which was very thick, so it took over an hour of multiple applications, waiting and scraping. However, it did not fully remove the line, I could still see where the previous tape was left in the end. I bought the automotive version specifically because I was using it on my car and I wanted to be sure to protect the paint - it left a new residue on my paint that would not wash off with car soap or even alcohol wipes. So warning, it leaves your paint foggy and cloudy! My husband ended using a commercial roofing-grade acetone to get the remaining lines and residue off of my paint. So while it works, beware of residue!

I never write reviews but this product is amazing. I had a lot of duct tape residue on my car (taped up from a little reversing accident) and I have to replace the tape often and it always leaves so much residue I can’t get off. I thought I would give this product a go and didn’t have high hopes because it was a lot of residue. It worked INSTANTLY to get off the tough residue. Highly recommend!

This stuff works great on the vehicle paint to get the junk off that it is supposed to. The price is a little steep, but it works. My application was to remove someones old work sticker on the doors and rear fenders of my "new" truck. The colour of the automotive Goo Gone is lighter than that of the regular Goo Gone - just so you don't get them mixed up. Regardless, this stuff works, and I only used ⅓ of the bottle.👍🏻 Just be sure after you use it, that you wash your vehicle well where it was applied. A coat of wax would be an added benefit too after the vehicle is washed.

Over rated capability.. had difficulty removing stubborn stains off car body paint. Not useful

A sticker l bought from china made my car disgusting. This solution worked very well although had to apply menu times to complete the cleaning
