The spoon is heavy. Besides rice, this can be used for small noodles like elbows, Israeli couscous, corn kernels, etc. I would have rated this 5 stars if the handle was a little bit longer. Other than this, I love it. Also, the current price of $25.99 plus tax is competitively priced for this. This is one quality spoon.

Villeroy and Boch is a great brand and I love their products. This is a great rice spoon in 18/10 stainless steel. The spoon is heavy.
