The Pentair Pentek ECP5-20BB is a 5-micron pleated sediment filter cartridge designed for whole house water filtration in standard 20" x 4.5" Big Blue housings. The pleated design delivers 36 square feet of filter surface area, extending dirt-holding capacity and filter life compared to non-pleated alternatives.The ECP5-20BB features a sonically welded overlap seam that reduces internal bypass for improved filtration efficiency. The cartridge is built around a polypropylene core for added structural strength, with polypropylene endcaps and gaskets for a secure seal. Review: Good filter for wells - Unlike some comments, the Pentair, Pentek ECP1-20BB 1-Micorn filter does not come packaged with notations not to use with non-chlorinated water. We use it on our well and even with just pressure tank pressure (Less than most city supplied water), it works superbly. Will buy again. PS: We have a professional well company who also recommends this filter.
