Lehman's Glass Washboard

I love the glass! After my LOs first birthday party I forgot about her clothes which had ended up covering in pink frosting and was tossed in the corner of the bathroom and forgotten about for 3 days. I thought everything was going to be ruined and stained. I remembered I had ordered this for another reason and decided to really try it so I put it in my kitchen sink with warm water and a tide stain pack and a little bit of detergent and away I went to scrub the frosting out. I was blown away by how gentle the glass was on her clothes and to see it work its magic before my eyes. I don't think I could have gotten that frosting out with my "normal" stain scrubbing technique. Not a mark of pink was left, no grease stain from the frosting itself and her clothes look just they did before I had to scrub them. This washboard is amazing and I know in the years to come I will be turn to it more often to scrub out stains.

I love how well this works. It even gets out old dryer set in stains. Oh, and Helloooo White Suit Blazers! While I previously struggled to keep my sleeves and elbows clean and seldom wore them; this handles that issue perfectly, and I can now proudly wear my whites. It even got out the ancient armpit stains in my husband's work T shirts while delicately handling his suit shirt necks and jacket sleeves. The only thing I dislike about it is the glass slides around and knocks when I'm scrubbing up and down on it. It is a nuisance, but not a major issue.Update: I loved this so much I ordered another one to keep with my camping gear. No issues with this one. 5 stars!!!

I have used this multi-times since it arrived.I read that the washboard makes clothes cleaner than the average washing machine.With this in mind, I took a pair of my work jeans that I wear when digging out from underthe sheds, or for any muck work. And, found the saying is true. More grime came outwhen scrubbing the newly laundered jeans.I love the glass compared to the metal boards.The only question that I have about this board is the bare wood. I don't believe it wastreated with any finish. I wonder why and wonder if I could used boiled linseed oil on the wood surface.

I don't use this all the time. I use it for bras and stuff I don't want to go through the washer, or if I have a light load and just don't want to waste the water and time in the washing machine on it. very handy. I installed a hanger on it so I can hang it on the wall above the tub to put it out of the way when i don't use it.

Great item and it is glass which it is very easy to use and will buy again Which will and not worry about stainless steel or any other material love this item

Prior reviews advised purchasing one with a glass surface. That proved to be important for hand washing anything thick. Frame is good.

This is a lovely washboard. I bought it for practical use but have decided to store it on the wall of my laundry room to use as decor. The glass is thick and heavily textured without being sharp or prone to scratching. The frame is solid wood and while lighter in weight than I had imagined seems sturdy nonetheless. It's a great piece for either laundry or craft use and makes a nice decoration when not in use.

Love, Love, Love this washboard. I have looked in all the big box stores and the Chinese stores and could not find a washboard, much less this specific one. Growing up we used Lehman's Glass Washboard (LGW). My mother had it for years. It was not until my husband recommended that I go online to look for one. I was pleasantly surprise to see LGW. I thought that they were discontinued. The new washing machines are trying to incorporate a washboard but, that can't work for me.I highly recommend this washboard.
