Great USB Mp3 Player!!
It is amazing what technology has done with the ol' Memory Stick!! It is now an MP3 player that can function in the older capacity, broadcast FM radio signals and be a "walkman" in a small conveniently sized package! It has many features including volume adjustment, display the choice of radio station, the name and album particulars of the song being played in the large memory. Being a small "stick", it lends itself to smaller fingers when tuning and operating all the control features, instead of the meat sticks my Mother gave me a long time ago. I am pleased with its performance and use it and the included ear buds while exercising daily by directing my attention away from the pain, sweat and agony of trying to stay healthy.

Works amazingly... for now?
Been looking for a small mp3 to be used when skateboarding and decided to try this idooz unit due to the decent reviews. I don't plan on using this device as a voice recorder, hook up to car receiver, or radio. It is nice to have these options but unfortunately can't comment on those specific functions. Upon receiving it I was impressed by the size, the mp3 player is about the length of my index finger (3.5") and less than two fingers thick (1 1/8"). Fits in my pocket perfectly weighs less than my AKG earbuds. I did spend a few minutes reading through the user manual before touching the unit to try and get familiar with idooz user interface; it's really not that difficult to figure out even if you dive in blindly. I followed another reviewers recommendation on labelling songs using numeric values (the user manual clearly describes this process FYI). I currently do not have songs saved to this device. All my music is uploaded to a 16gb micro sd card (formatted FAT32) which the mp3 accesses quickly. It's a pleasant surprise how fast this unit is able to read all my music on the micro sd card. I've seen demos of competitor mp3 players lagging upon reading external card contents; not the idooz. The user interface makes it very easy to access too, once your in the music mode you simply hit the 'M' button on the side of the device and navigate to the card folder which is literally two clicks down. Another neat creature comfort is that this player's software remembers where you left off even if the music file is stored on your external micro sd. To be honest for something this cheap I didn't expect it to do this, most of the other players on the market will not take you back to your original music file especially if stored on the external card. The sound quality is identical to the 192kbps on my computer with the same earbuds and is able to get quite loud if you turn up the volume to max. Another nice feature is the quick track fade out when you toggle to the next song, there is no abrupt jarring stop. There are several preset equalizers stored but the stock setting is fine for the rock music I listen to. Ok, now that all the satisfactory things are out the way it is important to mention this device's faults. The rubberized coating sucks, it stinks up my fingers and collects oils from my skin littering the player with fingerprints. I would advise users to be careful not to get excessive sweat between the small spaces (buttons/card slot). This little thing is a little flimsy if you have big fingers and will log unwarranted hard button pressing on the navigation ring. You'll have to get used to precise pushing with medium to light force. Also, when navigating the menu left and right buttons (on the button ring) are used for toggling up and down through menu features. The plus and minus are exclusively used for volume control, so you'll have to get adjusted to this. I found myself trying to use the plus and minus to move up and down but had to keep reminding myself the left and right buttons complete these actions. My last gripe is how difficult it is to insert/remove the micro sd. I had to utilize a skinny pen cap to push the card into the internal locking mechanism to seat it. The external card needs to be pushed beyond the player's body deep into the slot before it locks in place; it sits recessed once seated. These issues don't really have a personal negative impact on the overall functionality of the idooz but it may make or break the experience for you so be mindful. Also, I don't think this player would be to forgiving if you consistently drop it so make sure you have it stashed deep in your pocket when doing physical activities. I'll update this review over the course of the next 6 months if anything changes. I honestly don't expect this player to last longer than 2 years. I know, it's sad that we've come to expect cheap devices like this to be disposable but for the cost I wouldn't mind buying another one for $25 (after 24 months of daily use). It's worth the cost/risk if you're on the fence.

Good but don’t expect the best
It’s a great device for Listening to music it’s very small and all around a great purchase the only problem I have with it is when I’m using it the skip button is hard to press because usually it just increases volume unless you press it the right way and sometimes it will bring up the menu without me pressing the menu button but other than those problems it’s great

Perfect for Government Jobs
a lot of locations in government buildings don't allow for anything wireless, which is just ridiculously hard to find with today's standards. This device has an internal memory and a card slot, so plenty of space and means of file organization. It has a fantastic battery life. last all day and then some. easy to charge with a built-in usb-a plug, which is also how you upload onto internal memory, and a standard 3.5 audio jack for your favorite old school headphones. the audio jack thus far has had fantastic sound quality. i thought the issue before was my cheap headphones but it was the mp3 player i had prior to my idoooz. The MP3 player is light weight, has a comfortable almost velvety feel, and buttons that are the right level of easy to push, like they don't get pushed too easily in your pocket. you can back out into the menu to keep from skipping tracks if like me you are prone to leaning into it and pressing buttons anyway. The menu is for the most part pretty easy to navigate. I Never read the instructions and got it down fairly well but there are several points where the controls switch from using the up and down to scroll up and down to using the left and right to scroll up and down. I'm not really sure why but it doesn't get in the way of anything. also the player remembers where you stopped on a track from when it was last shut off. this sounds like it should be standard but it is not. this may not be a big deal for music but if a track is 30+ minutes long like a chapter in an audio book, words cannot describe the difference this little feature makes.

Review after 2 years: Broken garbage
I bought this for the purpose of serving to replace the $50 iPod Shuffles I used to buy so I could listen to music or audiobooks during work or long walks. In my case I needed it to work on Linux. PROS: - Built-in USB for plug-n-play charging and loading/unloading of songs works just as intended. - Nice matte black, decent weight, doesn't look or feel like cheap garbage. - Good amount of default space, can easily hold over 500 songs. - Works on Linux without any additional drivers. - Cheaper than an iPod Shuffle used to be. - Long battery life. CONS: - Battery indicator seems to go from 75% to 0%, so you don't really know how little charge it has. - Deleting individual songs requires too much tinkering with the menus to be practical. - All songs "fade in" when you skip, with no option to turn it off. - Headphone port takes a bit too much force plug in to. - WORST OF ALL; the skip buttons can take several clicks to register a button press. It takes 1 click minimum to wake up the screen, and often 1-5 more just to skip to the next song. This is exacerbated by the Skip Forward and Skip Backward buttons sharing a plastic mold with the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons, sometimes clicking Skip will register as a Volume Up/Down press, which opens the Volume slider menu and this doesn't go away until it stops registering any inputs for several seconds. So if this is in your pocket, you might click the Skip Forward button a dozen times and the song still won't change because it's stuck on the Volume screen waiting for you to give up. Super infuriating design. - The only feature I wish this had was universal volume normalization, so quiet songs were as loud as loud songs and vice versa. The volume normalization it does have only normalizes the volume of each song individually, not relative to the volume of your other songs. UPDATE: Well it's 2 years later and it's finally died on me. I wish I had purchased something else because the amount of my life that I've wasted fumbling to get it to skip a song, pressing it as much as 7 TIMES before it registers a skip, or the amount of time I've had to pull it out of my pocket to manually leave the Volume screen because it registered a "skip" right press as a "volume" up or down press is infuriating and totally unforgivable. Do not buy this product.

extremely disappointed.
the design is great, the texture is great (holding it), the audio is great. when pulling or inserting the cap housing the usb it gives it a good satisfying click so you know its snapped on, and that goes for plugging in the headphones, too. BUT the only problem, at least in my experience. is the damn thing wont play any audio format except mp3. however to be fair, i never realized music purchased from itunes are in W4A format so thats on me. It says it plays WAV but WAV doesnt even show up. copying music into this device is a lot slower than other mp3 players and sometimes it doesnt copy them correctly. some music just abruptly cuts off half way through and some music says the duration is 30 minutes?! idk could be a problem with the mp3 file its self but i cant be sure because my other mp3 players (past broken ones included) were able to play the same files, correctly. this product is so good but so bad. i really hate to give it a 3 star especially since the physical design is real cool, but i cant look pass it partially failing to perform what its intended. and i get it. the description says it only plays mp3/wav. which is also on me too. but lets be honest, mp3 players has been around for over a decade. you'd at least expect these things to be able to handle other music formats. theyre other $25 mp3 players out there that can handle all types of format. again, my fault for over looking a few details. but just saying. dont buy this if you hate being bamboozled when you excitingly put music into this mp3 player only to go "WTF format error?" and "ayo, wheres my music at??"

Best Tactile Mp3 player on Amazon
The ui design isn't quite as usable as a walkman NWZ but its really close and has a ton more storage. really good value, nice looking low res screen, solid feeling construction, usb fits well into computer, nice sound quality, really easy to use, very light, nice texture of plastic. only gripes are the folder structure not being sorted, not being able to return to place in folder after playing a song, and the 3.5mm jack being a bit tight. I really want to see an updated version of this, its a really nice player. It's not the best thing ive ever used but there just arent that many similar players on the market from what I can tell and this is the best one as of right now i think

Awesome mp3 player
Best value for the money. What I've learned so far after a days use.. it plays mp3, m4a, wma and FLAC audio, not that it needs to but if those happen to be the files you have it will play them. The audio quality is great, I bought 2 different brands and this one is superior to the other brand. It came with wired earbud type headphones and actually sound good given how cheap it looks. It has rechargeable battery. The black and white screen looks great and easy to read. It will display song title, author, and album info as well as song time. Has options to shuffle music and shuffle folders, repeat options. Overall this exceeded my expectations would recommend.

Perfect! Great sound!
Perfect! I like to have mine in my pocket when exercising or playing in the garden. Previous one... was a clip on which i found was a pain... when in my pocket... it was too sensitive and would change songs or shut off during movement.

Melhor MP3 do mundo
