The perfect sunscreen... leaves me with an airbrushed look.
I waited until the second purchase to write this review. I love this product and highly recommend it. I only wish it was available in the US. My skin is medium to dark in color. This sunscreen gives me an airbrushed look. It soothes my skin when irritated or inflamed from sebderm flare ups. I rarely wear make up as it is too cumbersome to reapply sunscreen during the day. However, with the matte coverage from this sunscreen, I don’t need anything else, so reapplying is a breeze. It also evens out my under eye circles and some hyperpigmentation on the sides of my face, so I look refreshed and even toned. I can’t vouch for the long term benefits to the already hyperpigmented areas, but based on the ingredients, it seems to be very protective and soothing to the skin which will certainly prevent future hyperpigmentation. My children and I use Altruist SPF 50 as well. This product is more cosmetically elegant since it has a matte finish and feels lighter on my skin. However, I don’t recommend using it on the body since it may stain your clothes. Altruist SPF 50 is excellent for body protection. I like that the product was created by doctors that specialize in skin diseases. Although, I myself am not an expert, the product seems to be backed by knowledgeable skin experts with ingredients that support healthy skin based on what I’ve read on the subject and other reviews by doctors like Dr Dray. Finally, I really admire and respect the ethos of the company. Similar to The Ordinary, the price point of many of the products with equal or better efficacy are more accessible than other brands. In addition, proceeds from every purchase goes towards an excellent cause. I do agree with many of the other reviewers that the tint may be a bit dark for some, however, I hope the company listens and makes other shades of this product. Lastly, I wish it were available in the US. I haven’t found another similar item with the same finish and mix of ingredients.

Brilliant spf that helps fade pigmentation and protect skin
Since wearing this SPF the past few weeks I have noticed the pigmentation has faded a lot. Especially around the top lip melasma moustache.Anyone who has tried everything for pigmentation I highly recommend Altruist. My skin looks glowy and smooth. I haven’t broken out into zits yet either!

Colour not as expected.... but not all bad!
I'm a massive fan of all of Altruist's products and have been using their spfs for a few years now (to be honest wouldn't use any other brand unless I ran out whilst on holiday). So when I saw this I thought let's give it a go. I'm fair to medium skin tone (pebble in Estee Lauder, cool beige in No 7) with slightly pink undertone so thought this might work well on me to even my colour. Beware of the pump - a full pump gives you way more product than you probably need so go easy pressing it down - though any excess can be used on neck and decolletage. I was expecting a slightly green product to counteract the red so was surprised when it turned into full tan on my face. I wasn't sure i liked it as it has slightly yellow tones. I did consider washing it off. However, I did have a slightly red patch on one side of my chest with a white strap mark (where I hadn't applied spf... naughty!!) so rubbed some on there. Now that was a revelation - the redness immediately backed down and the strap mark became a light golden so there was a lot less contrast between the two. That was impressive! So back to the face. Once it settled down a little it actually felt nice - the moisturising aspect was good and my skin feels plump and dewy. I was happy enough with the coverage not to need foundation so carried on putting my face on as normal. Make up sat nicely on it, no issues with application. So after my initial trepidation I think it's actually a pretty good product, a tinted moisturiser with good spf. The colour wouldn't be great on a very light skin - would look tangoed. On a darker skin would probably function well as an spf/moisturiser but not really offer any colour pigment, but at least it wouldn't look ashey like a green tinted product would. On the whole a good product!

Great product but not for me
I want to give this 3.5 stars. Let me start off by saying I think this seems like a brilliant product but unfortunately it didn't work for me and my skin. I suffer with rosacea and eczema and have been looking for something to treat the redness or at the very least conceal it without having to wear makeup. I had my fingers crossed that this would be it. The cream has a green tint to it but when you rub it in your skin it turns to a light brown. It goes on very smoothly and dries lovely, soaking in well so that it doesn't leave any sticky residue. It smells nice and makes skin feel soft and smooth. However, I have very pale skin (around the redness) and the colour does not suit my skin tone at all, it is way too dark to match the rest of my skin. Even with a thin layer my face looked so much more tanned than my neck, ears and shoulders and I just don't feel comfortable wearing it like that. I did need to put it on a bit thicker to cover my redness and that made the colour look worse. It had a sort of yellow tinge to it. I'm really disappointed this didn't work for me but I think this would be perfect for the right person and skin tone because all other aspects of it are great. The price was worth giving it a try. Cheaper than on the high street and arrived next day with Prime. I also bought the foaming face wash, used it a few times and really like it. That was a great price too.

SPF works all day!
Before I start - this product is not for very fair-skinned people. Which is unfortunate because I am nearly too pale myself but happily it worked well for me if I use it lightly - if you are maybe more redhead/ginger it might be too dark for you. There could be improvement in this area. I have used this daily since January of this year and I recommend it highly. I was priced out of La Roche-Posay products so found this. I then took it with me for a several-week backpacking tour around Asia (a little of this goes a long way for me so I just took the one tube) and I was in blistering sun in Cambodia and the Philippines and I never got sunburned on my face, because this SPF 50 seems to really work all day! I am impressed by that and believe we all need to wear sunscreen particularly on faces and necks to prevent irreversible sun damage. This product is affordable and long-lasting and didn't disturb my generally sensitive skin. I will very likely buy it again.

Avoid if pale, it’s extremely dark orange.
I have sensitive, pale, mature dry skin and I heard great things about this brands spf and thought I’d give it a go. When I came to the Amazon page, I discovered there was an anti redness & pigmentation option in the green packaging and thought it would be perfect for me. I did read the reviews and noted some complained of it being very orange with photos, however some reviews with photos showed it as a normal white colour. I decided to try it, thinking perhaps it was a reaction with certain skincare products making it go orange. When it arrived, it was in perfect condition, no damage to the box or product and tested it immediately on the back of my hand. Please see photos. As you can see against my white Scottish skin, it’s incredibly dark orange. Although I had no other products on my hands, so my belief that it was a reaction to other products wasn’t correct. I still tried it on my face, however I mixed it 50/50 with my old spf, hoping it would reduce the effect. However, my face looked ridiculous being bright orange. A makeup tip for if you suffer with redness in your skin is to apply a bronzer on the red areas before applying foundation or a skin tint. This helps neutralise the redness. I hoped this orange spf would perhaps do the same, but alas it didn’t help, it’s simply too strong of an orange. I have contacted Amazon as the item isn’t eligible for return and they did refund me with no issues or fuss. Thank you. I found the SPF sat nicely on the skin, hydrating and moisturising with a dewy finish. Nor did it accentuate any dry areas. It didn’t upset my skin, no stinging or discomfort. There was a very slight, but minor discomfort for an hour of my eyes, nothing as bad as other SPFs I’ve tried. It claims to help redness and as you can see on my hands, I do suffer from psoriasis and my skin gets very red and angry. This SPF only reduced the redness by approximately 5%. I’m still confused to why the reviews are varied, with some like me receiving a product that turns orange and some where it remains white. My only conclusion is that either it’s a faulty batch or the product has gone off somehow. If the colour hadn’t been orange, I believe I would very much like this SPF and I am going to order the normal face version. Unfortunately, I can only rate it one star; despite having some good parts to this SPF: hydrating, non irritating, great ingredients etc, it essentially unusable due to the colour. All I can advise is to purchase the normal SPF and avoid this anti redness option.

Great anti-redness, tinted sunscreen
What a great product. Really hope they do larger sizes and add more to the frame now I've found this one. I previously have used more expensive sunscreen with a tint but was so impressed with the story for the brand I bought my son the face fluid. When I realised they did sunscreen with a tint and anti-redness I thought let's give it a try and I must admit I've found it perfect for me. My normal skin tone is light-medium I'd say and so far it's ticked all the boxes. My daughter is keen to try it out due to her acne but she's got much paler skin so I'm really hoping it ticks all her boxes too. Fingers crossed.

Amongst my favourites
I have melasma and mild facial redness, and was advised to use a tinted sunscreen. I chose this one at a recommendation from one of YT skin care influencers. At first, I was not impressed and I thought I made a mistake. The tube looked small, and the product pilled immediately after being applied on top of my usual skincare products (vit C then moisturiser). On a couple of occasions, I was horrified to see that it pilled on my neck and made it look dirty. I realised that the problem was that I was applying it too soon after applying my usual skincare. I then tried applying it after making sure that my skin is fully dry and the pilling problem was gone. The creme iself feels light-weight and is of a quite "watery" texture, so it is easy spreadable and provides excellent coverage. it absorbs fairly quickly whilst it makes my skin feeling well moisturised. A small amount goes a long way, but as this is a sunscreen, more than what would normally be needed for coverage when using a normal cream or a moisturiser should be used. As mentioned, the tube looked quite small, and at first I thought It would not last long, but on the other hand I did not want to skimp on the amount used, to make it last longer. This is when I decided to use it in conjunction with another, budget friendly, non-tinted SPF 50. I first apply the budget one, and the follow it up immediately with Altruist, and I am getting the most wonderful results. There is no pilling, though, at first, the skin looks a bit ashen until the product is soaked in. Once it's settled the skin looks natural, as if there was nothing applied, whilst the melasma and the redness are nicely covered and neutralised. I love the way my skin looks even hours after application. I look at it and think that it looks better than decades ago. I really fell in love with this SPF and will definitely buy it again. At first, bearing in mind the size, this it may not seem to be a bargain, but considering what it does, it is well worth the money. And don't be fooled by the size of the packaging, due to the product's consistency, it will last a while.

Consiglio soprattutto in gravidanza
Bellissima nelle giornate fredde. Ha una bella copertura e non si nota di avere una crema sul viso. Usata tutti i mesi della gravidanza. Sia d’estate che nelle giornate più fredde! Una buona crema da usare tutti giorni!

Me encanta.
