The film does attract and hold dirt and grime in place. Your ordinary degreasers will get this crud off when you want to clean an re-apply it. Don't use a sponge, you will scratch the dirt into your paintwork. A few cycles of soap/degreaser and water will get it all off. I've had my bike 3 years and there isn't a spot of rust anywhere I sprayed it. I have never found anything better and I've not had to look because it just is the best. HCB-1 is more effective but it's a much thicker product with far more staining ability on your clothes.
