A while back I bought the unknown BBQ lid hinge for my Weber kettle, which is great, except that I burn my forearm occasionally when lifting the lid. To avoid this, I ordered this handle. See the attached picture. As others have mentioned, the required wall thickness is a little thicker than the Weber kettle lid. This is easily remedied by using an additional 5/16” stainless steel washer behind it. One thing that is a little concerning, is the nylon insert lock nut that is included. I used a heat gun Set at 700 degrees, and the nylon did soften. Not sure if the vapors from this is harmful. If you wish to replace the nut with a regular hex nut and lock washer, I believe the threads are M10, which should be available at Big Orange or Big Blue. The handle works for its intense purpose. No more burnt firearms!

I ordered two spring handles. We Broke the handel on our charcoal broiler lid couldn’t find a replacement,. We saw these, ordered two. When They arrived we installed - they are working great, they don’t get hot. Glad we found them. They arrived on time, were packed well.

I used this to add a heat safe handle to my outdoor fire pot. Install was easy and the handle has performed well. No rust has developed on the coil and it's actually sturdier than the door it's attached to.The only problem is the price. It's a lot to pay for a simple coil handle.

Well built and a good size. Huge upgrade to our wood stove. No more putting on gloves every time we want to add wood.

I bought this to use on my smoker that stays out in the weather but under a metal overhang where it doesn't get rained on. I am now seeing rust forming on it and it's been roughly a year since I installed it. Will see how it goes over the next few years, I expect it will get worse. Other than that, it works great and protects against burning your hand.

Great to make the spring from stainless but not the handle so it’s already rusty and corroding where weather hits it. Additionally, the springs are not tight enough around handle and partially slip up as you apply pressure to open. The only great thing is the ease of shape and install, but not worth the time or money if it’s going to corrode.

It works for me, as I keep my grill covered. Disappointing it is chrome plated not stainless. More Disappointing is the nut and washers are not chrome plated or stainless. The hardware will definitely corroded over time. Thankfully I had stainless hardware squirreled away to use. I wouldn't overtighten the nut either as the thread isn't great.
