Purchased the Pacific Coast Feather Bed to add some cushion to a brand new Sealy Hybrid Mattress which was slowly killing me. I let it air out and plump up for a few days, then placed directly on my mattress, put my mattress pad over it and made the bed as usual. I absolutely love this bed, it's so comfortable and no more joint pain. I do tend to run a bit on the hot side and have not noticed any temperature difference. The tag states dry clean only and I am good with that, as my mattress pad encloses it. For those people who think they have to wash it regularly, I suggest you read up on this subject as under normal circumstances it's totally unnecessary. Honestly, I was concerned after reading some of the critical reviews but took a chance based on the company's 30 night guarantee and glad I did! I haven't had any issues with crackling or crinkling noises and this would have been a deal breaker for me. No problem with quills sticking into me or feathers floating around, I assume because I have the mattress pad enclosing it. Pacific Coast sells a zippered protector case which states "keeps the feathers in and the dirt out". Let's be realistic, if your feather bed goes flat, it's YOUR fault. Think about your weight crushing it every night?? It must be shaken, beaten and fluffed every 2-3 days. If you can't commit to this, you will probably want an alternative fill, not feathers. Choose wisely and make informed decisions. A quality bed at a steal of a price. Highly recommended

Great feather bed. It's super fluffy and you sink into it like a cloud. If you want a firmer feather bed, this is not for you. But if you like to conform to the fluff, this is it. I put this under the fitted sheet and it adds a lot of height to the bed when you first put it on, but it settles down some and looks normal again. Every 2-3 days I have to take the fitted sheet off and shake and fluff the bed up to shake out the contours of our bodies, which is quite annoying, but its worth it when you lay back down on it. You certainly will get the "aahhh" feeling when you climb into this freshly fluffed feather topper. I wish there was a bed topper that would fluff itself back up, but this is only the second I've ever owned and definitely the better of the two. Its light and doesnt shed feathers at all because I bought the cover that went along with it (cover is awesome by the way, havent seen a stray feather yet). The feathers move and bunch up at the bottom leaving the middle very flat. I bought this knowing that I’d have to refluff it every so often but I can never seem to make it evenly fluffed all the way through top to bottom. It’s pretty frustrating. We bought this to put on top of our memory foam topper and it helps a bit but i wouldn’t consider it sleeping on a cloud or the worlds best sleep. Definitely more comfy after a fresh “re-fluff” but doesn’t last long. We’ve had some feathers escape here and there but that can happen with this type of topper which I already knew upon buying. Not super impressed overall but I like it enough to continue using.

This is my second Pacific Coast Feather Bed. They are well-priced and high quality and I'm writing this review because I did a lot of research before deciding to buy the first one, and then the second one. Included is a 10-year warranty. Just as you need pillow covers and mattress covers, you will need a featherbed cover. These protect the feather bed, reduce allergens, and stop the feathers from coming out. Pacific Coast makes a great one, but I've found that a waterproof mattress cover also does the trick for much cheaper (we are potty training (my husband)) and coincidentally it was much cheaper. I bought this one to put on top of the crappiest/cheapest Ikea mattresses that I bought for my Airbnb home, because it was just uncomfortable. But add this feather bed and it's like you're Airbnbing in the lap of luxury. Cheaper is not always worth it when it comes to mattress topper and inches of thickness is also not the biggest indicator of added comfort. I really like feather beds generally because they don't make you as hot as foam toppers. That said, this feather bed does benefit from being fluffed up now and then, which is easy enough when you launder your sheets. If I had a live-in maid or something, I'd have her (or HIM!) do it every day. That's the only way this could be improved upon. That's what they do in the hotels! In sum, I'm very happy with my purchase, and will absolutely purchase again.

Only used for few months and 100's(a baggie full) of the feather quill end's on one side of it were sticking through the material and poking us ruining expensive sheets. The other side is just as bad and decided to return. Sent request to Amazon that then sent it to Gan Enterprises that then responded that it is beyond their return policy and I have to contact Pacific Coast. Gan responded again with this explanation..."In all feather beds, there will always be a little feather "leakage". If you are not satisfied the standard feather beds, you may want to look for 100% down feather beds. These are a little more costly but they use the under plumage of ducks, geese or other birds. The feathers tend to be much smaller and while you will likely still get some "leakage" the feathers are easy to miss. " Pacific Coast Waranty says thier weave is "leakproof" on their website..BarrierWeave(tm) fabric is tightly woven and specially finished to be more leakproof, so down and feathers won't sneak out. BarrierWeave(tm) fabric is also finer, softer and more durable for lasting comfort and easy care. I will contact Pacific Coast on Monday when they are open but since they are the manufacturer they may not return my money which means I will then have to file a complaint with Amazon to resolve it...will update when I know more.

This one is tough to review because it doesn’t stand alone. Bang for buck is a great topper. It’s soft, and it is actual feathers; I feel you’ll have a hard time finding these features for a better price. It comes packed pretty flat, so you really need to fluff it up to get it to expand out anywhere near 5-inches. Other reviewers have stated the feathers poke through, they do. It’s not as bad as some have said, but it happens. I use it with a deep pocket mattress cover over the pad. I don’t notice it unless I pull off the sheet and cover and am physically touching the topper itself. Which I don’t want to be doing for obvious sanitary reasons, but you can feel the quill and vane of the feather if you are in direct contact. Full disclosure I have this on a med-firm Serta Sheep Retreat, and it is hard. If your mattress is too hard, this will not fix that. And I want to mention that because I feel it makes it hard for me to be completely objective.

It took days longer to get than it should have, lost in delivery twice, and I wouldn't include this in my review, except it was Amazon Delivery that delivered it. So, that's annoying. But the bed, OMG. I purchased a bed cover at the last minute, and ended up canceling that, more on that later. When I first put this on my bed, I was a little disappointed. It seemed a bit flat. Because I hadn't received the cover yet, and I have dogs, I decided to put this under my mattress cover to keep it safe. That was exactly what it needed! Being constrained under the mattress cover was just what it needed to keep it fluffy. It's been almost a week now, and I just grab the center of the bed and pull up a few times to fluff it. Even if I don't, by the time I get ready for bed the next day, the bed lofts back up to original height. The second day I got it, I logged off work (work from home) climbed into this bed and fell asleep till the next day! Get it. You won't regret it. I used this to replace a very expensive, 4 inch thick memory foam topper of about 5 years that was causing me more back issues than it was helping. Sinking into it was actually hurting me. This bed has just the right amount of support, comfort and it's like floating on a cloud!

I am extremely happy with this purchase. It feels like Christmastime all over again. As an owner of several different featherbeds over the years, I can honestly say this is my favorite overall...great density and thickness and it doesn't get too hot like synthetics do. I read the negative reviews before purchasing, including complaints about the item being compressed and not "fluffy" upon arrival and feathers poking people at night. First, ALL featherbeds need to be fluffed between each use. That is a known fact. Expecting it to be fluffed after unboxing is just unrealistic, as it would not be economical to ship it otherwise. As for feathers poking me at night, I have not had this problem. I always put a fitted sheet over my featherbeds, including this one, and I generally do not have problems. Once in a blue moon, a feather may poke through, but this is normal with any feather product. My recommendation for anyone looking for the ultimate "cloud-like" experience is to put your featherbed on top of a pillow-top mattress or a padded mattress cover. This provides the cushion needed to achieve softest, cuddliest experience possible.

The product which I have received does not have a tag of Pacific coast company. So it is difficult to believe that I whether I have received genuine product or not.
