Once connected you will be able to control your thermostat from your smart phone or computer. You can also customize the thermostat by adding your own pictures just like a digital picture frame. Now compatible with Alexa to ensure the perfect temperature anywhere in your home.

Review: Bye Bye Big Tech - Just what I was looking for to continue weening my smart home off of Silicon Valley. Connects seamlessly with Home Assistant, meaning I can control the temperature without going through third-party servers. The only complaint I have is I still had to register an account just to use network time. NTP is an open protocol. There should be no reason to create any account on any external service.

**Q: Is Venstar T7850 Alexa compatible**
A: I found this on Venstar web site http://venstar.com/smart/alexa/tells you everything to do with it

**Q: Has your Wifi connectivity been reliable with your Venstar thermostat? I see a lot of complaints but wonder if it has improved recently?**
A: I own 2 Venstar T78850 Thermostats.   Which are located in different homes.  Both have no connect Wi-Fi connectivity issues.  The only time I lose connectivity is when the internet service to the house fails, which is not a Wi-fi issue, but an issue with the Internet service itself.

**Q: is it z-wave compatible?**
A: I do not believe so but I would go to the Venstar website and email technical support with your question.

**Q: Does it support apple home kit?**
A: It works with Alexa so I would guess yes.

I purchased the Venstar T7850 Colortouch in November for use in my vacation home. After installing it I found the thermostat had a problem and did not communicate with their cell phone app. I contacted Venstar support and explained the problem and even included pictures from the thermostat, but they never replied to my email. As a last resort I contacted Amazon Support. They immediately replied telling me to return the thermostat to them for testing. Within a week I got a reply that a replacement was being shipped. The replacement thermostat worked perfectly as advertised. It's really handy to check the temperature of a home 200 miles away and know the furnace is working. Last week I used the app to turn the temperature up (the vacation home is in Northern Michigan) so it was warm and comfy when I arrived. A big THANK YOU to AMAZON for their fast and helpful support!
