Very good quality files.

I like to file my knives to the shape I want. So for me the quality of the file makes what I enjoy doing more enjoyable. I bought 2nd cut files. Will be purchasing rough cut and finish files from Pferd in the future. I have always used Nichalson files before, but either quality has changed or the Pferd files are harder.

They are pretty nice files but for the price should be finished better. One of the files I received was put in the handle crooked and not centered. The flat file also has burrs on the side that is supposed to be smooth with no teeth and is ground sloppily at the end.

Round File - File body is bent.Square File - File body is bent, shank inserted with offset.Half-Round File - File body is bent at the tip.Three-Square File - Shank inserted with offset.Hand File - File body is bent, smashed teeth on the side.

These are superb files. Pferd files can be pricey compared to typical files you get from the big box stores but you get what you pay for. Fit and finish was exceptional. I've use Bacho and nicholson (USA) files at work and these Pferd files are Right up there in quality and performance. These are made in Germany . The handles are comfortable and very secure. The pouch is a heavy vinyl with room for 7 files .Overall a excellent set of 2nd cut files.
