So Easy to Use
I received this mixer. Made pizza dough in it but it did not mix well in the center. I realized this particular packet only has 2 tools (wire whisks and dough hook). There is another package that has all the tools for only $20 more. So, instead of sending this mixer back I just went ahead and purchased the additional tools which I ended paying about $70 more dollars. Also, the reason why my 1 batch of pizza dough didn't mix well...I needed the dough extender which is included in that other package you will find in the search engine. All of the extra attachments are needed in my opinion...so get the bigger package deal if you can. The ease of cleaning the unit and bowls are a breeze. I bought this because my kitchen aid just couldn't handle the bread dough and bounced around on my counter (yes, we tried to fix it) . I am very happy about the suction cups that keep this bowl unit in place. I make a lot of cookies, mashed potatoes, mixing meatloaf to combine all ingredients and other things. I've only had it for a few days now, so I haven't made everything yet, but based on the reviews and the strength of this motor. I don't believe I will have a problem with it. This will stay on my counter for ease of using it often. I do wish they had an attachment that would clip on the lid cover that would drop the flour in the bowl without it being poured on the spinning attachments but other then that.....EXCELLENT UNIT!

Fantastic Product...Saves Mess, Time, and Arms
Owning a cabinet-building business, my husband always says that you gotta have the right tools for the job. Yes, this mixer is pricey, but in the long run, it saves me time and arm strength and does the job far better than I could ever do. My arms ain't what they used to be, and trying to knead 12 cups of freshly ground whole wheat flour for any period of time can really wear you out. And I like to make better use of my oven being on, so I make 4 or more loaves at a time. This machine really handles the dough well. My bread rose so high from having a nice gluten formation from the kneading, that next time I'm going to omit the little extra the recipe calls for. Also made a nice pizzelle dough using the beaters. The machine isn't very loud, as I expected it to be. Wasn't bothersome at all. Very easy to take apart and clean. I would advise watching some youtube videos to see it in action. If anything, more to see what other attachments you might want to get with it to save on shipping (if any). Amazon (CSN Stores) offered a competitive (if not the lowest) price, and I was able to buy Amazon gift cards at Giant Eagle for the extra gas savings. Something to think about. You won't regret buying this.

Better than Kitchen Aid
Replaced my kitchen aid with this. Way better. More powerful, larger capacity, just as many attachments. I like that the attachments firmly attach, unlike the kitchen aid where they “stick out” from a small port. What I really like is that I can add things from the top, where as the kitchen aid is harder as the beaters are in the way. The bowl takes some getting used to to clean as larger, but that is just a learning curve. I do wish they included all the beater blades for this price point, as you do really need the cookie beaters and the bowl scrapers. I have used the bread hook to mix meatloaf, works wonders. Very light in comparison to the kitchen aid, but does not move when blending due to great suction cups. I do not make bread, as this is advertised as a great bread mixer. It can be used for everything else as well, not just bread. Highly recommend.

Is Love Too Strong An Emotion for an Appliance?
I bake whole grain bread, at least once a week. Alas, my efforts proved too much for my Cuisinart stand mixer (which was purchased before I caught the bread bug). We chose that particular mixer because it had a more powerful motor than the KA Artisan, but still, over time, it began to labor and overheat. Eventually, it would shut down mid-knead, and wouldn't start again until it cooled off. I knew it was a matter of time, so off I went to find a powerful mixer that could withstand the heavy dough I was preparing. Of course, I first looked at the industry leader, the KA brand, specifically to its "Pro" line. Seemed plenty powerful, but yikes, the price. Still, I was willing to shell out the dough (so to speak) to get something that would last. Alas, the size of the mixer was such that I couldn't fit it into the spot where my previous mixer was stored. In reading the reviews, someone somewhere mentioned this Bosch Universal Plus, which I had never heard of before. Bosch, on the other hand, I know well. In addition to being a bread maker, I have done some woodworking as well, and have a number of Bosch power tools. They are outstanding in every way, so I figured I'd at least have a look at this. Well, the initial impression was: what the heck is this? This isn't a mixer. The design is certainly not in keeping with the overhead armature we all have come to know. Instead, the motor is beneath (and alongside!) the mixing bowl, and a vertical shaft extends upward. The reviews were great, and a quick YouTube search revealed that there were folks making as many as 9 loaves of whole wheat bread in a single batch. Since I only make 2 at a time, I figured surely this would work for me. And, it would fit on my counter. Given the Bosch reputation for quality and the good reviews, I pulled the trigger. Can I say: I love this machine. It is considerably quieter than my previous blender, but clearly has plenty of power (800W). I can mix up a batch of dough in about 25% less time than before, and the dough comes out beautifully. You might find that you need to modify your recipes slightly in terms of kneading or mixing time, because this machine does a pretty efficient job in less time. The dough hook is industrial-strength, and the mixing paddles that come with it do a great job with thinner batters and such. I honestly don't know why Bosch doesn't market this more aggressively (maybe they do so in Europe, but it the states, I've never seen one before). The bowl and attachments are easy to clean, another plus in my book. You can get a blender/food processor attachment as well, but I own a BlendTec blender so don't need that. If you're in the market for a powerful mixing appliance and don't mind thinking outside the box, you really ought to give this machine your consideration. Nope, I don't work for Bosch or have any relationship with them other than as a customer. But when I find a tool that exceeds my expectations, either in the woodshop or the kitchen, I don't mind bragging on it. The Bosch Universal Plus Kitchen Machine is, for my money, a wise investment. Now, if you'll excuse me, it's time to take my Oat/Whole Wheat bread out of the oven!

Best bread mixer ever--forget Kitchenaid!
This mixer is absolutely fantastic for making bread dough. I had always made my bread dough by hand, and when I decided to buy a mixer to do to for me, I first purchased a Kitchenaid mixer from Costco. I'm sure that the Kitchenaid does many things well, but bread dough is not one of them. Based on online reviews, I decided to give the Bosch Universal a try, even though it was quite a bit more expensive. Well, as all my friends and relatives could tell you, I have not stopped singing the praises of this mixer since receiving it. Its construction seems to be top quality. The pieces are all easy to wash, and assembly and disassembly is a snap. However, the really wonderful thing about this product is how well it works. It both mixes and kneads your bread dough, and at least with the recipes I use, no scraping of the bowl is necessary. You dump the ingredients in, turn it on, and about 10 minutes later, you have lovely dough. I usually put in all the ingredients except a cup or so of the flour, so I can add it slowly at the end to ensure just the right texture. But other than that, you just dump and go. Really, it is a wonderful product. You will not regret it if you bake a lot of bread.

Bread dough champ - quality tools for a professional result.
I bit the bullet and bought this after I broke a Kitchen-Aid mixer trying to make bagels. I wanted something that could mix bagel dough which is really stiff. Since I've used their power tools and love them, I figured I'd give their kitchen tools a try. Just like with other power tools, for something you use a lot, it's worth spending the money for quality. This mixer delivers. I can make bagels and bread, and it's great for making cookie dough (with the optional cookie beaters). The minuses - yes, it does get warm when working harder. Keep an eye on it, don't mix the dough for too long (you don't want to do that anyway, it doesn't take long to get the consistency you need with all that power). Take the middle section off the cover when you're doing dough - you shouldn't need it. Yes, it's a bit harder to get it to mix a dough for just one loaf - but most of my recipes are for two loaves (or one big boule) so that's not a problem. Cleaning is a bit involved, but it's a lot easier than say a food processor because the spindle in the middle detatches from the bowl. The pluses - Power all day long. Suction cup feet - I never have to worry about it "walking" across the countertop. Overall, an excellent mixer and did exactly what I needed it to do and more. A quality product I'm sure I'll have for years to come.

Love the mixer!
I purchased the Bosch Universal Plus Stand Mixer 800. This unit is the cat's meow for mixing. I have been making 5 loaves of bread a week and this made it very simple. Mixes dough well! I can mix a full batch of dough without any power problem. I use it for pizza doughs, cookies and anything else that needs to be mixed. I can make a full bowl of chocolate chip cookies with added nuts with no problems.I can whisk up frostings better than I ever have. I add the ingrediets while mixing with the lip on the bowl. The lip or outer lid twist locks in place . So, you do not have to worry about it coming off when mixing dough. That is the same with the inner lid. I mix the yeast in the bowl for proofing. Then put on both the inner/outer covers to let it proof. When proofed, I take the inner cover off and start the mixer on 2nd speed and dump in the flour while it is mixing. There is no mess.I use the mixing time to grease the pans and flour the table. I can easily pop the bowl off to dump the dough or scoop out the cookie dough. Then drop it in my dish water to clean. It cleans very easy and everything comes apart to get it clean. I gave it 4 stars because it is so useful and durable.I did not give it five because you have to spend more than a normal specific appliance to get any of the attachments for it. There is a food processor and many other attachments, but I could buy individual pieces cheaper. So, the idea of it being a multi kitchen tool is out for me. But, I still love the mixer.

Awesome Mixer
Possibly one of the best mixers on the market today.

Works perfectly! No! Actually even better!
New version no longer states 800 watts,, same motor however it is rated at 500 watts now. I got scared when I saw that the motor rating written on the nameplate said 500 watts and the picture advertising this unit clearly shows that it is 800 watts. Bosch removed that from the front from the new production. Ads should be updated so that it no longer claims to be 800 watts. Mixer works perfectly. Did a 3kg batch of 65% hydration dough, which killed my previous mixer, there was no problems running on speed 2. Mixer might look small but it handles large loads really well.

Ooh La La Bosch
Very different from the Kitchen Aid. Huge capacity bowl. Easier to load bowl than Kitchen Aid. Small or large batters. Cookies cakes breads. Doesn’t take much height space on counter. Cutting edge machine for the baker. The shipper Kayla of Distribution America is super kind and amazing. Fulfilled my request without a hitch.

Good product for smaller projects
I like this product. I use it for most things while baking. It’s works well for most things but if I’m making dough, it tends to not knead it very well. If I turn it on higher speed, then I have to hold on to it or it jumps off my counter. The dough just rolls around the walls of the bowl. Maybe I need different blades, but additional tools are very expensive
