They help contain messy or stinky trash and also keep it private. They can also hold quite a bit. I have them stashed both in my bathroom and in my purse for when traveling. They would probably also work well for random bits of small trash in the car. As far as the storage pouch that came with them, it seems durable and zips well. The only downside is that you can’t fit all of the bags that come with it inside very easily. Since I keep bags in different places around the house, that wasn’t an issue for me.
