DeMarini CF5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (-3)

Bought this for my son who's a catcher in college. After hitting one home run his entire high school career, he hit 3 this fall in college. Very well balanced. He loves the feel of the handle, and says it has excellent pop. Has requested another one for Christmas, but we'll have to see about that. :)

Perfect bat

My 13 year old son has tried just about every bat out there in the local training complex batting cage(bat demo house) over the past year. When a player has to make the transition to a heavier -3 bbcor bat (because that's as light as you can go) it will take a while to develop strength and bat speed. The CF5 -3 is so well balanced that it seems to swing like a drop 6 or so. I have always tried to steer him away from a $200+ bat in favor of last years model at half price or whatever I could do to save a buck, but when I could see a difference in the way he hits the ball with this bat as opposed to other DeMarinis, Louisville TPX, and Eastons on multiple visits to cage, I finally have to admit that there is something to all the hype about this bat and composite bats in general. This bat is not cheap so if you can find somewhere to try it before you buy it, I would recommend doing that to confirm the buying decision to yourself. You will see a difference too

This bat has sooooooo much pop out of the wrapper and will get those homeruns that you are looking for

This bat has the best balance of any bat I have ever swung. The price is really coming down due to the arrival of the 2014 models, so this bat is a tremendous value at prices under $200. After using the bat for over 1500 swings, I can see it coming alive and the sound is not annoying like some other bats. The ball feels great off this bat.

This DeMarini CF5 is an Amazing bat! I personally bought a 33" 30 oz, and it is the lightest swinging 30 oz I've ever held. I used this bat in my own personal cage, soft tossed, and it hit acceptional. I took it in a larger batting cage with live pitching, and found out that this bat has the most insane Pop of any bat I have ever swung and the ball comes off the bat fast, even though it is a BBCOR. We did a test on our home field, I was hitting 52 more feet(Measured Average) than I normally would when I use my wood.This review is coming from a Collegiate Ball player who has had much experience with bats. I would recommend this bat to any age player, 5 STARS!

Purchased this bat for my son who plays high school baseball. He went to a bat store that had demos of tons of bats and hit them all and he hit this bat great in the cage/demo.But after purchase of a brand new version of that bat he never hit well. Used in several games, batting practice even with his hitting coach. NONE of his fellow teammates could hit this bat. The performance was just not there. It was a "Dead Bat". I even contacted the factory and told them I thought it was defective and sent it back to them for their "Official Testing" and they came back with "Everything was ok" but still No results when my son used the bat. Stay away from this bat and don't waste the money. Now going to ebay to sell the bat as a Used Bat.
