High quality product you’ll have for years!
This is a high quality product made of eco friendly bamboo. Everything included is well thought out, including a small screwdriver and wrench for the easy assembly. It is sturdy and will last for years. It has the feel of a company that took the time to make a product they could be proud of with the look and feel of products of yesteryear that are so well made that you own them for years and then hand them down to your kids/grandkids. As mentioned above, it is easy to assemble and use and it worked well. Clean up was a breeze, basically a quick soap and rinse of each piece and then air dry.

I never knew how much water was in my tofu!
The directions were very clear. It is both easy to use and easy to look at. And, an extra perk is that you gain access to a very good tofu recipe book. I’ve made some tasty recipes because of that book. I highly recommend this tofu press!

It works and isn't made of plastic!
I tried this last night and it was great. It was a bit fiddly to put together, but if you follow the instructions, then it isn't so bad. I found the top screw covers annoying, so I just don't use them. The only thing I don't like is having to take the entire top off to put the tofu in without touching it. I know I could just dump it out into my hand and then push it in between the bars, but I really don't want to touch soaked tofu. The fun thing about this is seeing how much liquid comes out. I squeezed my tofu quite a bit and the amount of liquid that came out was hilarious! Clean up was a bit of a challenge. To avoid spilling, I suggest doing the squeezing near a sink so you can empty it out without spilling onto the floor, like me.Washing is super easy. I left everything together and just washed with warm soapy water. It is drying as I type. The best part is... no plastic! Yay!

Fail
The bamboo is a great idea but to put this thing together, there are so many bolts, screws, springs, and nuts that it's complicated and awkward. Once I had it all put together it was quite a challenge to press the board down on the tofu block & screw everything down tight enough to compress the tofu. As a matter of fact, after doing that & letting it sit for a couple of hours, there was hardly any liquid drained out. To top it off, I had even a tougher time trying to dismantle it, as one must hold the bolt with the screwdriver, so it doesnt turn (on the bottom of the press) & try to loosen the nut with the wrench (top of the press) . Very awkward & difficult for 1 person. My next press will be one with the plastic nuts with wings that screw on easily with 1 hand. After this failed attempt to drain the tofu block I used an older press I have that is a box style with latches on the sides to hold things down. It drained all the liquid that the bamboo press couldn't get.Very disappointed with this press.

Exactly as Shown
This is a great little tool. I wanted to upgrade from my technique of pressing tofu under a cutting board with cans on it. You assemble it when you first get it (five minutes, maybe) then after you just screw and unscrew the wing nuts to use and clean it. Cleaning is easy—I usually just run it under the water and let it dry. It comes with a nice storage bag. The construction and materials are great, it feels really sturdy. Yup, all around this is a nice tool.

Great sturdy tofu press
I really like this tofu press; it is very sturdy and made of wood so you don't have to worry about chemical leaching into your tofu. The design is attractive and would fit in well with any kitchen's interior design. I also use the tofu press for other things such as konnyaku as well. This style of tofu press is quite efficient at removing excess water to allow more room for flavors to penetrate during cooking.

Good but needs improvement.
I ordered this particular one because it was metal and wood - no plastic. After using and assembling, there are definitely areas that need improvement. The circular knobs to tighten the board are hard to do and my hands are very petite. I couldn’t imagine it being easier for someone with bigger hands. The knobs could be bigger or maybe a different shape for better grip. In the instruction pamphlet it says to not get the metal bits wet, which I found impossible to do - considering that the tofu is wet and the whole point of the press... are you supposed to take it fully apart to clean each time? That would be impractical, would it not? So maybe better hardware that is actually okay to get wet like a food grade stainless steel? I was honestly hoping it would be exactly that already! The bag is decent, I love the canvas material. However it is a tight fit when it is assembled, so again, are we supposed to take it apart and put it together each time you use it? Again, highly impractical. When I assembled it and used it, I had used a tool to tighten it as best as I could, and midway through tightening the tofu, it became very uneven (bolt loosened) and I had to fiddle with it midway and take it completely apart to tighten the bolt again. Could have just been user error, but still annoying. The coating on the bottom tray also came to me chipped in several places, to that I wonder what the coating is made of? If you wanted to marinate in that portion be cautious of that.As a press, I do think it works okay overall. The drainage could be a lot better- but it’s okay. I did press it for about a total of 30 min. Whenever I turned it on it’s side (like a version without the slats), it seemed it worked a bit better. Anyways, just wanted to get all my thoughts out in case it helps someone decide. It works far better than me pressing it by hand at least, so that’s a plus.
