Exhibitionist Ultra-Matte Lipstick, Risky Business

Love this color, wears good too !

I bought this in spite of the reviews complaining about color and texture, and I'm glad that I did. It's interestingly matte but metallic, which may or may not be your jam if you have highly textured lips. However, I have scars on my lips and have had lines around my lips since my early thirties that otherwise feather lipstick badly, and this doesn't feather on me at all. I also have about 2mm of lip beyond the vermillion border on the bottom lip that I've only ever been able to cover with a longwear liquid in the past, not even stains. This covered it, and it stayed covered. The texture IS stiff going on, and if you try to put it on like a regular bullet, it will seem to be dried out or defective, but it isn't. It's just a matter of how you apply it. I found that applying it slowly in one coat, letting it drag the lip while you apply works to put down a good layer of color, but the most effective application was layering up multiple thin transparent layers of color until you're satisfied. I bought it to use over pudding pot lip color for color alteration and ombre effects, and it works amazingly for that as long as you're patient and just build up the color gradually. All pictures are unretouched in different lighting: warm artificial light (high and low), white artificial light, shadow mimicking night lighting, and daylight through a window. No primer. No lipliner. No topper. Wear has been impressive: - After eating pasta with oily sauce: Lightened fairly evenly all over, and only the very inner rim came off. - Applying over itself after eating the pasta: went on just as it did before, perfectly even, same texture. - Kissing skin with a fresh application. No transfer at all. - Full night's sleep wearing: still significant color in the morning, a little patchy on the bottom lip where I have scars, but nothing that couldn't be smoothed out, and the top lip just lightened. Most impressive part: no feathering into the lines around my lips. - Wiping off with nothing but a tissue or paper towel: some of it wiped off, but largely, the color stayed put unless I applied enough pressure and enough wiping to hurt. Feeling on the lips: - Not gonna lie, it is dry, but that's the price you pay for heavily pigmented long wear twist up lipstick. - There's none of the silicone slip feeling from brands like Fwee or the original Revlon Colorstay (for the 40+ crowd). - You *can* put a balm over the top for a slightly more moist look (very slightly--I wouldn't bother, personally.) - If balm is applied over the lipstick, it makes the lipstick feel like a normal matte bullet lipstick, but then it also performs like one by feathering, transferring, and wiping off easily. Oddities and (minor, IMO) issues: - Yes the stick is more brittle than a bullet lipstick typically is. Mine arrived with the lipstick loose inside the tube and lost its tip to being mushed against the top of the cap during shipping or storage. The problem was easily solved by pressing the lipstick gently but firmly against the base (in 70 degree temperatures) until they adhered. There have been no problems since. - The color is super interesting in the way it shifts. With direct artificial lighting, it tended to look like a mid-denim blue-gray. In low or warm lighting, it looked black. And in daylight through a window, it shows the color it looked most like to the naked eye which is a dark super-saturated blue, but it just does not photograph well in that color. In the sample photo, that's the top right image. The shine of blue in the middle is the color the lipstick looks like all over to the naked eye. -Wiping the color off, it is BLACK. I tried enhancing the saturation, vibrance, exposure, and nothing would bring out anything but black against the white paper towel. (See image)

Love this color and the way it lasts all day. Great product, I only wish there was a way to use the half inch of lipstick that’s always left in the tube when it is used up.

Okay first of all, the color was not as described, it was more of black with blue glitters instead of navy blue lipstick. The colour pay off is also horrible, as I had to layer it 6 times to get the opacity in the picture. The lipstick also snapped off from the packaging, it’s also dry, but sticky at the same time. Like, this formula is just expired and outdated, just get something else for your buck, covergirl makes ahhh lip products anyway

Matte finish. Can be used as liner or full coverage. Love this color. Second time purchasing this.

The lipstick popped out when I first opened it. I had to search the area where I opened it. Once I found it, put it back in the holder, I tried it on. It is very dry, doesn't go on easy. The advertisement is kind of false. It shows a slight sheen to it, but its so matte it doesn't do that. It is a pretty color. Pretty tough as far as stay power. I drank soda and no smudging. Its not horrible but I dont think its for me. Thought id try it for only $5 though.

This color and brand was chosen by my daughters dance comp team. I am someone who prefers to buy my make up in-store, I just do. Unfortunately this lipstick was not available anywhere we live. So amazon here I come! The price is good. I think I paid around $7ish. Wink wink is a very vibrant color to match her very vibrant pink dance costume. Next I had longevity concerns. So as soon as it came in, we tested. I put it on her before bed, she woke up with bright pink lips and no smears. Mind you, she's 8 and a wild sleeper. Additionally, this did not dry out her lips, I also tried it myself and the texture is smooth, no smell, and can attest to the moisture. I have read the rest of these reviews and unsure if I just got lucky with this product or if the other reviewers just got random bad experiences. Overall I would say we are very happy with the lipstick and considering ordering other colors to keep her dance bag stocked.

Consistency is not good

This is wonderful matte lipstick. Purchased the colour Risky Business. First I want to say that it does not last for 12 hours. 4-6 at best if you eat/drink through out the day, however, that being said, it is the best matte lipstick I have used to date. It may not last the full 12 hours, but this lipstick does not dry out your lips even when reapplying it through out the day. and the colour is a little bit lighter than indicated. Not by much though. Overall, I just have to say this is the best matte lipstick out there!

Love this lipstick. A nice red.. glides over. Not a non-transfer matte though and does not last longer than a few hours. Yet its a great buy for the colour and finish.

The best lipstick. I find it sooo difficult to find one that suits me and this does. Stays on for hours aswell

This one is the best lips shade I bought. The texture is to smooth and it's easy to dry on my lips. It's good product.🙂
