We have one of these in our caravan but connection to our other caravan next door is hit and miss what could i use to enable use in both

Get a outside booster arial should help, take the back panel off and screw into the areal socket this should help

Can this be used and powered in a truck on a 24v power source?

Yes you can as long as you got power or plug to be able to get power to the hub what I did I got a power adapter like hands-free generator which has a plug and USB ports then yes you can.

I am thinking of getting one of these for my static caravan. Do I have to pay a monthly fee or take out a contract?

Same here - I use the smarty card for £18 a month in my static caravan - so far all ok

School wifi is broken. As a temporary fix, could 10 ipads run off this in a classroom?

As it's a wi-fi hot spot according to the blurb you can run up to 32 devices but unsure as to how long the 30gb sim would last.
