It's very slightly shiny but not overwhelmingly so. The material is thick with a wonderful stretch, and it is not seethrough, which is rare in a white fabric. I mean you really can not see through it. I laid it over a black and green striped pillow and can only faintly see the black stripes. It's quite heavy, and well suited for a white bodysuit!
