The quantity of projects in this book is amazing. There is so much to build from the simple to the complex. Everything is laid out with easy designs to follow, along with a comprehensive parts and materials list to buy. The beginning of the book has good info for the beginner on how to work with wood and what tools you will need to help overall construction. I bought this for my wife and told her to mark the pages of the things she wanted me to build. Near half the book is dog eared, I'll be busy for a long time and she'll be happy for a long time.

This book is loaded with useful projects and tips from a guy who knows his way around the workshop. Spike covers everything from guides for garden hoses to buildings for your animals and tools. There is even a project to build a bee hive along with some basics of taking care of your bees and wise advice as to where to seek more knowledge about bee keeping. Spike really goes to some great lengths to show you how to do things right and build so that your creations will last the tests of time. And includes some classics like instructions and measurements to build the venerable.the Leopold bench. He makes small projects enjoyable and makes large projects less intimidating.

Love this book. Covers tools and safety first. Just as any project book should. There are numerous useful projects that I will be building for my small homestead. The instructions are clear enough for a non builder like me. There are plenty of pictures to show what you should have after cutting the wood as instructed. The problem with the book opening only to the first page has been fixed. I have a kindle hd and the book opens to where I last viewed it. Thank you for so many good garden project ideas. I especially like the tool caddy - repurposing an old golf caddy. Brilliant! This is something that will save me many steps and wasted time in the garden.

Starting with several tips to help a beginning builder, the author takes the reader through many projects ranging from simple totes and benches up to more complex projects including a full featured garden shed. The designs, all showing much more thought than my feeble attempts at similar projects, demonstrate that this is not the author's first attempt at these projects and, with the material lists, will save the prospective builder time and trouble and result in a good looking project rather than a by-guess-and-by gosh embarassment.

Got this as a gift for my brother, I think he's really gonna like it! Nice projects and detailed instructions that are easy to follow!

Book of Building Projects is exactly what I was looking for. There are various size projects, all would be helpful on a homestead and there are great tips and suggestions for beginners. In fact, the instructions are very clear and don't require very expensive tools. Highly recommend!

I am glad I purchased this book! I was looking for a book that had easy, do it yourself, build your own, home and yard projects. This book has more projects and ideas than I ever expected to get from one book. The diagrams and explanations are easy to follow. I'm already using the two wheel garden cart, the flowerpot smoker, and my wife and I also love the punched tin jelly cabinet. Amazing projects and I highly recommend this book! Don't buy a wheelbarrow buy this book and build the garden cart. It will be the best wheelbarrow you have ever owned.

Kept the copy from the public library so long, we owed $1.40 in fines! This is a great book - solid resource for basic information, wonderful photos, project lists, and how-to information. It will be dog-eared in no time, as we are having s blast reviewing the many projects we'd like to tackle. Though our carpentry skills are basic, this gives enough information that I'm confident we will begin projects with greater confidence and end with success.
