Sharp knife but not for cutting bone as expected
It is a great knife and seems very sharp, but I am expecting a cleaver to cut bone while is not for it. Should included more info there since I cannot get a clue of it. Anyway, keep it still since the shipping fee is almost half of the total price if return it

An excellent knife for the price and my new primary cutting tool!
After cooking in western styles with western implements for so long, I've been learning more about chinese cooking. I was intrigued to learn that Chinese chefs tend to use only this cleaver-style knife for all their work. I received this knife as a gift, and was surprised that a knife in this price range could be so well balanced and durable. It's insanely sharp, and holds its edge quite well. After some practice, I'm pleased to say this is now my primary knife. There is something very satisfying about its efficiency and utility since it can be used for cutting and chopping, as well as scraping and lifting from cutting surfaces. I've tried a few other models - for example ones that have larger blade ends and/or a hook hole in top corner of the blade, but I don't feel they're as well balanced. For the price, I'd say this is a great piece of cutlery for someone interested in developing Chinese knife skills before moving on to a more expensive blade.

I bought this "cleaver" from a local Asian market for about $10 cheaper than the Amazon price. This come incredibly sharp right out of the box. It is very well built; the handle has little space between fittings for anything to enter and cause a problem for cleaning. It is on the heavy side (as should be expected) but it is not a cleaver (I will not call it that). It is more of what I would call a Chinese kitchen knife. It is great for crushing and cutting garlic and ginger and cutting anything else with a thick profile. So far, I really like it. And, for what you get, it's hard to beat the price. After having now for awhile, I will say I still think the quality of this can't be beat, especially for the price. It holds an edge very well and the more I use it the more I just like the weight of it.
