When my air conditioner unit crapped out on me right before a heat wave, I was literally running around like a chicken with his head cut off to find a decent replacement. I went to all of the big box stores, and oddly enough they do not sell through the wall air conditioners in their stores. The couple of guys that did have were WAY overpriced. I headed to trusty Amazon who would not only beat their prices, but they would have it on my doorstep within 2 days! I had my installer come in that same day to do the job as it was BOILING upstairs without any air conditioning. I can not comment on the install, but I had asked and the installer said that it went in without a hitch with the KSTSLV1 sleeve. So safe to say the install is super easy. For the units themselves, they work FANTASTIC. Our bedroom, and our daughter's bedroom are about 300 sq ft, which 8,000 BTUS are perfect for. I let the units run at first for about an hour or so, and let me tell you the rooms were like igloos and I actually had to turn it down a bit despite it being 90 degrees outside. It has now been a week since the install, and they are still running strong & cold! The remote is very useful as well, it has an LCD screen which shows the current state (fan, cool, temperature etc) and is very easy to use. This is a great unit, and would gladly recommend to anyone looking for one. The price is great as well considering 2 day shipping is included via prime.

I've had this for for 2 1/2 months and it's worked perfectly and easily cools my whole 400 sq. ft. studio. It fit my existing sleeve like a glove. It's fairly quiet, no vibrations. It fit so tight I couldn't tilt it downwards so I just drilled some holes in the bottom of the sleeve for drainage. I have no problem sleeping on low fan setting. So far no leakage. I am extremely pleased with the quality and performance. At night I run it on Cool, not Auto, so it runs steadily with no annoying on/off. I also turn off the energy saver at night (which comes on automatically each time you turn it on) for the same reason. The remote works well and has all of the functions as the units membrane touch panel.

I've had this unit for about a week now, and It works well. I didn't have any issues with the packaging like a lot of people did. I have a small condo and my living room/kitchen area is around 450Sq ft and this unit is able to able to keep that area cool at a temperature of I want it at 79 - 80 degrees Fahrenheit in Energy saving mode. Its very easy to install if you have a existing wall sleeve you literally just shove it in and seal up any cracks. The biggest issue I have is the reliability of the "Follow Me" Remote. The remote seems to have issues with sending the ac unit the temperature despite it being a short distance and having a clear line of sight. Also even without the remote the units temperature reading is inaccurate and will gauge the room 3 degrees cooler than the actual temperature. I was able to remedy this by simply adjusting the desired temperature 3 degrees cooler than what I actually want the room. So since I want my room to be 79-80 degrees I set the AC at 77 degrees, and its able to do that well while in energy saving mode. Overall I'm happy with it, but will continue monitor any other issues that may appear.

I bought this for my sons room as his unit stopped working during the summer! It’s worlds beyond amazing! This unit was bought in 2016 and worked better and is colder then my brewer unit I bought in 2021! It’s like an ice box - it’s the best!

I manage a property and my tenant said the old thru the wall ac unit that worked for 20-25 years finally died. This past July, it was over 100 every day. I bought this unit through Amazon. I installed the unit and it just blew the hot air around, no cold air whatsoever. I had to have the tenant wait in over 100 heat for days while I got a replacement and returned the original. I installed the replacement which worked okay for about a month, then it stopped working! It worked just long enough so the return window expired. I bought a portable a/c unit for the tenant for some relief from the heat while I had to special order a different a/c unit from another company because of the high demand for a/c units this summer. What a complete nightmare! Do yourself a favor, don’t buy this a/c unit, complete junk and I am stuck with it and I cannot get my money back.

Brand new, but very quiet. Can’t believe anyone would say differently. Cools well.. so far a home run!

My wife and I bought two of these units for our apartment. The air conditioner was not designed for effective drainage, so after a couple of years I found myself taking them apart to clean slime out of the interiors, then drilling holes in the housing myself for water to drain. One unit is still all right, but we're replacing the other because it won't stop blowing a moldy, mildewy stink no matter what I do or how deeply I clean it.

It is good! Not too loud but gets the job done. Update: it has been a little over two years and it sometimes pushes out cold air sometimes pushes out warm air even when I put it all the way down to 67 degrees. I would take away two stars for that if I could.

Very little cooling happens with this unit running at max. Should be rated as 5000 btu not eight.
