an excellent guide
This guide had descriptions of essentially everything I needed it to. It is slightly weaker on the restaurants of Havana but for most other sites I went to both in their and in other regions it had good descriptions. Since most American visitors to Cuba are part of guided tours, at least when going outside of Havana, this is mostly essential in Havana. Its description of Coppelia Ice Cream Parlor, although it did tell that one needed Cuban pesos, did not describe the full extent to which it is better to have Cuban pesos for the ice cream rather than go to the over priced and not very good CUC stand. Overall I was not disappointed with this guide.

General information without helpful travel details
Traveling in Cuba right now requires a good printed info because the internet is not often available or too slow to navigate sites like Trip Advisor. This book is a general guide and can be read at home before you go...but is heavy and not detailed enough to be the one book you carry on your trip. I might copy one of the (2 page) walking guides in it, which I did enjoy. The book is weak on recommendations for Casa Particulars and restaurants. Most travelers have the LP guide book so those recommendations may be over subscribed. If I were going to Cuba again soon, I'd print out everything I was interested in from internet sites before leaving and maybe get a used copy of LP guide there (available in Havana).

excellent guide for the entire island.
Lots and lots of detail covering the entire island with an obvious emphasis on Havana. Interspersed throughout are vignettes and cultural notes which help in all parts of the country. Even minor towns are covered. Maps throughout. Not sure how practical it will be to carry around but it certainly gives me a great deal of options of things to see and do while I'm there.

Dreaming in Cuban
This is a very beautiful guide book about a beautiful island with a very controversial government which has managed to send into exile its rich and its poor in large numbers. This is the island that I hope to someday visit and travel as a tourist so that I may experience its beauty again. National Geographic does a wonderful job of photographing and describing much of what the island offers to the wondering souls who will never experience the mundane lives of those living and those souls who left its beauty behind and who are now hoping to return, perhaps in peace, someday.

Great book about Cuba and it's geography. Also came with a nice map.

Nice photos
Not a ton of info in this. I am not a huge fan of the layout of these books in general. The photos look great but you may need a backup book to plan a good trip to Cuba.

A good travel book
There are so few books available on Cuba, that this book is as good as any on the subject. Recommended to have if interested in Cuba
