**Q: how heavy is this?**
A: It's not very heavy, but it does the job.  The only problem I found with it is that the metal pieces that hold up the wooden handle get hot, so you have to be careful to not get burned.

**Q: Is this item seasoned and if not, what is your recommendation?**
A: Yes, mine was slightly seasoned.  However, I seasoned mine again.  Remove the handle, oil it, and bake it at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes.  Let cool in the oven.

**Q: how do you clean it?**
A: Hot water and the dish cloth ..... but you should know that I oiled it lightly before use and after each cleaning.

**Q: Before even using it I wiped a paper towel on it and grey cast iron residue came off. Is that normal? Is that harmful?**
A: When you purchase pots or pans in a store and take them home, do you wash them before using them? Personally, I do, and you should with this as well.
