Great camera lens bundle for beautiful portrait shots including night shots
Autofocus struggled as it's not atomically focusing in picture mode or video mode

Surprisingly high quality beats equal Canon
I’ve owned 9 Nikon cameras. I bought this one for a gift and it holds its own against much more expensive DSLR cameras! Very happy with it.

Great beginner camera
Great camera for a beginner or moderate photographer. I like all the features. Cannot compare to a $1000 camera, but it works great for the price

Great camera
My daughter loves it.

Fantastic camera.
This is a brilliant camera. You'll take pictures like a pro - beautiful pics that in my opinion are the "Nikon look". My only issue with the camera is that I need an articulated LCD screen, as in the situations where I'm shooting myself as a vlogger I need to see myself. It's hard without it. So if you need the articulated screen, move up to the D5000 series, which I believe is where you get this feature. This camera has a mic input which is a big deal to some, but personally, I just would use a normal recording system (like a Zoom H1n) and sync up the sound in my film editing program. I thought I would really care about this feature, but it turned out I didn't. I made a recording of an inexpensive Sony ECMCS3 lav mic directly into the camera vs. just the normal sound. If you don't want to do a sound sync, it's a pretty incredible example of the quality of sound with a cheap ($20) lav mic.

TOTAL GARBAGE lasted less than 20 hours. Good Riddance plastic piece of S*** Nikon ZERO STARS
First let me say I’ve been a Nikon user and fan for 40 years. My last two have quit working way too soon with very little use. I will never buy another Nikon product ever again. My next (Dream) camera was to be a D750 but yesterday I switched and bought a Sony A III. My D3300 has less than 20 hours on it and it stopped working and left me hanging on an assignment three days ago. It seems quality is not a concern of Nikon anymore. Google: “press shutter release button again error”. You will find numerous videos of different problems associated with the shutter release error. Fixing it is next to impossible on the newer models. Plastic gears bind up and won’t move, causing the error message.

First time DSLR
Loving this camera so far. This is my first fancy camera so I am learning how to adjust the settings and take some awesome photos. This is easy to use and you can find a lot of helpful youtube guides for reference. Great first time camera.
