It's worth it
This is the second one I've owned. The first one lasted for so long, the left bottom corner began to break apart where I held it so much. I've had the same ipad the whole time. The good parts: It's super strong. It DOES protect the ipad very well. I use it at work and do not hesitate to hand my ipad to customers to fill things out. I have spilled things on it, and my ipad was still fine. The bad stuff: It's heavy. Kinda transforms your ipad from a sleep super cool tool to a clunky, bulky, heavy thing. But, I'd rather have that than a super cool BROKEN thing. Other bad thing: It has very small screw on accessories to cover, for example, the earphone jack, and you, if you are like me, will lose this is approx 9 minutes. I SWORE with this second one I would not lose ANYTHING, I've already lost stuff. When you lose "stuff", the ipad is no longer waterproof as in- you can't dunk it and expect it to survive. In reality, I never dunked mine anyway, b/c I had lost the tiny parts so quickly I never had a chance to even try. They should include maybe a back up part for the really tiny screw on things OR an easy way to order said parts. Other not so great thing- Your ipads screen is still raw and open to the elements- they do not want you to use a screen protector (probably screws up the watertight seal), so over time expect your screen to get the usual wear and tear scratches. BUT, your ipad probably won't break. OH, one LAST THING. IF your LifeProof case starts to break do NOT try to repair it with superglue to save money. Just don't. Nuff said.

I really didn't like this case
I didn't realize the name "nuud" referred specifically to the fact that this case is meant to leave the screen completely unprotected. They tout it as "leaving the screen open as it was intended" or something like that. I don't use a fold over cover like a lot of cases have, so I don't buy cases that have them. That means I want protection of some sort for my screen. I tried to put the case on with a screen protector anyway and could never get it to fit right, and it's probably a combination of the fact that this product isn't meant to be used with one and that on one corner the rubber insert didn't fit properly. Reading other reviews I see this isn't the first time that's happened either. I wasn't happy with the headphone insert either. I didn't want another piece to keep up with when I wasn't using headphones so I just sent it back for a refund and got this instead: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HRKZZY2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1which I have been largely happy with. If you use a fold over screen protector and don't mind not having any other kind of protection for it, and use headphones but don't mind keeping up with the extra piece needed to use them, then give this a try. Otherwise, steer clear. I didn't even test for waterproof capabilities although I see some did and found it lacking, but I did like the idea of it being protected if it were splashed. It just wasn't enough to deal with the rest of what I saw as draw backs that were too big.

Good Case but don't expect customer service
I am very happy with this case. I am using it for my black iPad 4 and chose this because it seems to be the lightest weight case that provides strong protection, and waterproofs the case without use of a film over the screen. I think it provides similar protection to the griffins and OtterBox type cases, but is clearly lighter – my wife has a heavy duty Griffin case on her iPad 2. The iPad 2 is lighter than my iPad 4, but with the cases on, my iPad is lighter. The look of the case also seems the most businesslike of the heavy duty cases. The case creates "lips" around the iPad that make it easy to hold at any angle. I don't go swimming or showering with my iPad, but I like the waterproof aspect in case I spill my drink on my iPad. I chose not to get AppleCare when I bought this product. If I had purchased AppleCare, I might have a hard time spending another hundred dollars on a case, but that's a personal decision. Also, most people complain about the cover. I would be annoyed if I had to pay another $30 for the cover, but the fact that it is plastic does not bother me. It fits perfectly and seems to be the only cover that comes with a heavy duty case And allows the iPad to rest at a shorter angle for typing – all the other heavy duty cases I looked at only provided a stand for viewing video.I was not happy with the customer service from the company, but I've seen that in other reviews, too. In my instance, after I put on the case, I was having trouble using Siri for dictation. My interaction with life proof customer service went like this:1. I emailed life proof asking if they could tell me where the receiving microphone is because I'm having trouble using Siri with the case on it, and said that, perhaps, if I spoke more directly into the microphone, it would work better.2. After a week with no response, I did a general search and found that the receiving microphone is at the top, middle of the iPad. I found that if I do speak more directly the microphone, Siri works perfectly.3. When I finally get a response from life proof, instead of telling me where the microphone is (which they should know since they designed a case to account for it), I got an email apologizing for having a defective case and offering to replace it.Maybe I should not criticize them since they were so willing to replace my case, but the fact is I asked a simple question and would've expected a direct answer to that question.I have been using this product for a couple months now and have no regrets, finding it attractive, easy to hold, and solid..

Great case but quality comes at a cost
I have bought two of these cases in 3 months, not because it's bad or anything but because I have two iPads and I was so impressed by the quality of the first one that I bought another.I have found the case to be sturdy, reliable, childproof, waterproof and sleek. The only gripes I have is that all this protection means some areas of ease have to be compromised. Each time you want to plug in headphones then you have to unscrew a small protective screw at the top of the case that provides the protection against water. This screw also prevent dust and dirt entering the headphone socket of the ipad. If you don't intend to use your ipad on the beach or whilst in water then I can't see that you'll have to many problems to worry about, but screwing this small screw in and out every 5 minutes for my kids to listen with headphones is a pain, not to mention the screw is incredibly small and I've lost 3 already. The other issue is that the case, by design, has to protect the speaker and microphone on the ipad and make it waterproof. This is cleaverly done by a funnelling technique. It means that some of the sound quality is lost through the speaker but only by 3-5%. (In my opinion)The microphone is also covered by the case and the pick up of audio is also reduced. Probably significantly more in my opinion. 10-20%.I base this on the use of Facetime with the cover on. I first noticed this when using the first Lifeproof Nuud cover we bought. When using the Facetime, the receiver of my calls had significant trouble hearing me and feedback and cutting out occurred in audio quality. I discovered that using a set of headphones with a built in mic (standard apple iPod/ipad headphones) or even aftermarket ones when using Facetime resolved the issue but it didn't help if the whole family wanted to join in the conversation, but I can live with that. This is the only reason I gave this product a 4 Star or else it would have been a 5 Star.

I think I like it - best in class I believe
I had one of those slimline covers before I got this, protected the screen from scratchs but not much else ( but was thin ) . took half an hour to fit ( including the bit where you put the case without ipad in under water to check for leaks ). Its a lot bulkier than it was , but I feel less nervous about manhandling it now , the stand /cover is a must don't get one without it. Having this case fitted opens up the places you can use your ipad ( near water for one thing) , I would have preferred a non see through back panel since it already has picked up scuff marks after being on for 1 day. I think its the best waterproof option out there , other types will effectively reduce the definition of the retina display - got one for my sons iPad as well - he' REALLY happy with his

Great, Strong, Well designed & made product that does and is what it says.
This may sound like a relatively expensive case, but I have found that it is all, and more, than it claims to be, and thus is excellent value. I live and work on boats, with the risks of dropping it, or soaking and splashing the iPad with saltwater, paint and other products- this has proved to be a really tough protective, but un obtrusive case, with totally waterproof seal, excellent plastic cover/stand with several possible positions, and access slots for the headphone, sim, and charging points plus an adaptor for headphones. Even with the LifeProof case on the iPad it is not unacceptably bulkier or heavier, so the peace of mind it brings is well worthwhile. A well designed & made product that really does and is what it says.

Good Kit
For my iPad 2 this cover is exactly what I need. It provides a rubberised, tough edge with the ability to use the iPad's own glass screen and be waterproof. It's an improvement on the Lifeproof iPhone case in which the phones own glass is behind a plastic screen cover. This removes some of the sensitivity of the touch screen. Good bit of kit. I can now use my iPad when boating without having to have it in an ungainly waterproof bag.
