Saved my CV axle shafts with this die
My axle shafts were stuck in the hub (2013 Jeep Patriot) pretty bad and needed some serious pounding to break free. The ends mushroomed out significantly and the last ~5 threads were trashed. I chamfered the end of the axle with a file and die grinder enough to get this M22 X 1.5 die started, cleaned up all the threads with it, and now the nut threads on perfectly. A replacement OEM shaft would have been over $250, and even an aftermarket would have been $75+. This $24 tool saved the part and now lives in my toolbox for the next time.

Doesn't match M22 x 1.5. Thread pitch doesn't look right, doesn't thread on properly.
I thread stuff all the time as an inventor. I tried putting this M22 x 1.5 rethreading die onto an axle, and it wouldn't thread on more than 1 or 2 threads, then started garbling up the threads. I used a nut, and tried it on the same axle and the brand new M22 nut threaded right on. This re-threading die might work, but the pitch and size is just not right, it's too tight on the threads, and will remove too much material. I would not use it. I tried it both directions, forwards, and flipped it around tried it backwards, and it would not thread on. It's stamped "M22 x 1.5." Visibly, it looks like it's the wrong pitch, like the thread pitch doesn't match my 2008 Camry axle which is an M22 x 1.5. Something isn't right. I won't be buying from Drill America ever again. I've never seen a die that wouldn't thread on to a CLEAN, pristine, new set of threads. I tried it on a rusted axle, and a clean axle, and it would not thread thread on to either, and started messing up the threads immediately. Stick to IRWIN, they are made in USA.

Spot on for Lexus or Toyota front axle
This was perfect for the front axle of my 2008 Lexus ES350 cleaned up the threads to the point that I could put the axle nut on by hand. I would guess that it would work on any number of Toyota or Lexus front Axles that require a M22 x 1.5 axle nut.
