This is a great kit! It comes with a lot of different tips and the case is great for keeping everything in once spot. The temperature control is easy to use and helps if you want darker or lighter shades. I really like that you can have both pens plugged in at the same time, just flipping the switch to change which one is heating up. The holders are really good too, put your tips in the little trays and slide the pens in to keep them secure and away from your workpiece while they cool down. For lines I used it around 71/73 and a little lower for any shading. For shading, it helps if you blow on the tip right before you touch the wood so it doesn’t scorch it right away I definitely recommend this one! I bought this back in late Jan with very little experience with wood burning (a cheap home depot wood burn pen) and the difference is well worth the money. The temp control, variety of pins and the grips have allowed me to accomplish a number of projects in great detail and satisfaction. I would recommend this to anyone interested in wood burning. I did run into a snafu a few weeks after use. The pens stopped heating up and aside from ripping a part the pens, I tried everything reasonable to troubleshoot the issue. My hunch is that the wires may have gotten too hot for too long and caused some damage. I reached out to the supplier and she was able to ship out a new unit with me returning the old one within a week. It has been a couple of months and no signs of irregularities. The product is great, the hobby is soothing and the supplier stands by their product with customer satisfaction in mind.

**Update 8/22/20- The customer service rep quickly sent me a brand new unit. They did ask to have the broken unit mailed back. They were quick to respond and quickly took care of the problem. For this reason I changed my review from 1 star to 4. New unit is working perfectly. Purchased this product at the end of April 2020. It was delivered the first part of May 2020. I have been using on and off since. It worked great. Temperature control is a little touchy but nothing too bad. In June one of the pens stopped working. I contacted the company and they promptly sent a replacement pen. I was very impressed by that. Now it is August and the entire unit has stopped working. $100 is alot of money to spend on something that only worked for a few months. I am going to reach out to the company again. I will post an update of the outcome.

I did a bit of research to figure out what to purchase and the TEKCHIC Pro 1 came up with more good things to say then bad. This is my first time using a wood burning tool. I love that it heats up and cools down super duper fast. The tips are very easy to change out. The size of the actual tool is perfect for my hand size and it didn’t get to hot when I used it for a decent amount of time. It’s worth going up in price for the quality. I have done pyrography on everything from leather wallets and jewelry to wood walking sticks to birdhouses and more. Being able to change the heat setting is great, and this feels more like holding a pencil than those other brands with the long neck that look more like a soldering iron. It's more comfortable for your hand. Having the two wants to switch back and forth is nice, too. Changing tips is easy. A great product, well worth the money.

I've had this item for just about a month and it already does not work. I don't use it everyday I do enjoy wood burning I've taken care of it very well but my advice to anyone is if you want to use a wood burner for more than 30 days do not buy this one they probably set it up like that so it stops working and melts the handpiece that you use to burn the wood literally just started melting while I was using it and I let it cool down and then next time I went to use it it worked a little bit and then I use it one more time and it just does not work neither one of the pens happened with both of them the first one did it super quick I was thinking it was just the one and I was lucky I had another but the other one did it as well and I did not notice that I only had 30 days to try to return it or else if I would have two days ago I would have been able to maybe get my refund or at least return it and get another one so I can use it for another 30 days for that price I should at least be able to use it for 2 months

The wood burning kit should've have easily earned five stars. The ease and comfort of the pens is great. I have zero issues about performance. My issues are the screw driver they sent is bent, luckily I have a spare or two laying around the house. Second, one of the stands is missing the insert. Again not end of the world but it would be nice to have a complete a complete set.

Started out working great but after maybe 20 to 30 hrs of use since May 2025 the switch to change from one side to the other is sticking and extremely hard to switch over to.

The temperature goes straight to 999 no matter where I adjust the knob. The pen tip starts glowing and emitting a burnt smell. The previous one I bought lasted me a good 3 years. This time I wanted to invest in a slightly more expensive one for a more professional finish. I'm highly disappointed. Never buy this product. It's completely useless. Unfortunately I was travelling when it got delivered to me or I would have returned it instantly.

I'm a total beginner so wasn't really sure what I was buying. It turns out this is a really good kit. The numbers on digital heat control are probably a bit misleading but my unit, at least, maintained a consistent temperature. I have given it 4 stars because one of the pens had a damaged screw making it unusable. Having read reviews about how responsive the company is I will contact them for a new screw. Other than that, no complaints at all.

Looks impressive in advertisment however on receipt the tips are very thin and weak. After using it in January and produced 6 coasters it worked ok.Took it out today to use and it powers up but does not heat up at all. Beware the warranty is restricted as it is some 10 months after purchase it is suggested I return it for repair at my cost. As it is sold with the normal 12 months warranty, I feel this is totally unacceptable. It is made with flimsy components and lots of plastic it is extremely poor quality. It is now being offered at a reduced price of £42.22 , I paid £49.99. It would be expensive if it was free. Do not purchase this item as it is rubbish

Would have been a good bit of kit if it had worked more than once! Disappointed.
