Good whistle for dog training
I'm using this whistle to train my dog to come on command. It appears well made, but does not come with a lanyard. I have to be careful using this whistle as it can be very loud if you don't. That can be a good thing if you are out in the country or are using it for protection. In my residential neighborhood, I don't want to disturb my neighbors late at night, so I just have to moderate how hard I blow. The whistle make a piercing sound, which gets my dogs attention instantly. So far, using treat rewards, she come almost immediately. As I wean her off the treats, I hope to make her reaction second nature. Very satisfied with purchase.

Love this bright orange whistle with out the pea ... just wish it came with a lanyard!
Love the sound of this whistle! I have always wanted to whistle like my dad whistled when he wanted us to come home for dinner. Believe me, I tried ... for years! This is the perfect whistle (without the pea) ... and now I can whistle with a little help from my new whistle. My dog responds great to the whistle ... and will turn on a dime when he hears it! Added bonus: Due to the bright orange color ... I can easily find it in my purse or fanny pack/waist bag. One suggestion: please add a lanyard.

Good dog whistle
Just like my old dog whistle [they wear out where I bite the end after years of use] I do prefer this pealess design as it is easier on the ears. Sorry to see that is was Made in China though, I don't think my old one was. Oh well. FYI you can remove the pea if it is made of cork, use a sharp narrow knife blade to cut it into pieces through the slot. An ExActo knife works well.

Useless
We had a need for a simple whistle to train our dog respond to, as one of the humans can’t whistle. It seemed easy enough to just buy a simple whistle, one similar to a referee’s whistle, $5 was a shade much, but worth just getting it without going into a store. It was defective, no sharp whistle tones, merely a blow of air and silent fluttering of little ball. I’ve never had that problem in multiple decades of using whistles.

Really enjoying 1st dog whistle.
This is my 1st attempt at dog whistle training. I always hated the way a pea style whistle sounded, and vibrated my lips so I got the pea free model after listening to sound clips on YouTube. My little dog who likes to wander ,and hunt more off leash is responding amazing to it! I give it 2 loud pips on the whistle , and his ears literally perk up and back he runs! I praise , and treat him well for responding. Thus far he responds almost every time without even calling his name just whistle noise only! He runs back with a purpose now. You don't lightly roll air into this. U have to make a short quick burst of air to make noise.

Wasn’t sure what to expect..
Read the reviews but, like most people, didn’t really know how it would work with our dog(s). But we figured, for the price, you can not go wrong. We got this mainly for one of our two dogs (one is 2 and listens well, the other is 1 and has a typical puppy brain). The first night we used it (nighttime is the time our 1-year-old likes to take off), my wife blew the whistle with medium force so as not to startle the neighbours and the pup took notice. Our older dog came right to our side but the pup didn’t know what to do. So, my wife gave it another toot and back she came. We have had the whistle with us whenever they are off leash in the yard. If they get too far away and/or we are uncomfortable with their distance, we blow the whistle and they both come back. It is definitely worth a try if you have a dog who is ignoring you or off in their own little world. I find it snaps them out of it. Hope this review helps.

Loud and indestructible
Works super well to get my dog's attention. I've dropped and stepped on it and still works well. I've used this in the winter as well and since it doesn't have a pea it wont freeze. Great whistle for dog training!

Works!
I got this to get my pug’s attention. She developed a habit of scratching at the furniture before she laid down, or the carpet. I’d say ‘no’ but she wouldn’t stop unless I got up. I got the whistle, waited for her to start her scratching, and blew it. It shocked the ‘h’ out of her and a week later I realized she stopped scratching entirely! I use it sparingly for other undesirable behaviour, like barking at glass doors at other dogs passing by. She immediately stops and comes to sit with me so I haven’t traumatized her too much I guess.
