A Code of Jewish Ethics, Volume 2: Love Your Neighbor as Yourself [Rabbi Joseph Telushkin] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. A Code of Jewish Ethics, Volume 2: Love Your Neighbor as Yourself Review: Telushkin does it again! - I own both A Code of Jewish Ethics: Volume 1: You Shall Be Holy and The Book of Jewish Values: A Day-by-Day Guide to Ethical Living so I was looking forward to this volume after reading Volume 1. You don't have to be any particular kind of Jew (Orthodox, Conservative, Reconstructionist, Reform...) or even a Jew to appreciate Rabbi Telushkin's wisdom. His wisdom is trans-denominational and often not specific to Judaism. He gives a liturgical basis to his opinions while infusing them with contemporary and personal knowledge. I usually read through his books at least once and then on a regular basis, look at specific chapters or sections to get another (respected) opinion. I do not necessarily agree with everything he writes, but based on how he phrases his commentary and his explanations for his decisions, I respect what he says. This is a book worth owning as part of a personal or family spiritual library. Review: Excellent book and well written and researched from a historical Jewish perspective. - While I am not Jewish, Telushkin writes with candor and amazing clarity. I found myself at times disagreeing with him but so many more times being forced to deal with issues from a perspective I have not heard or read about. He deal with some tough issues. Do not read this book if you enjoy being lazy about thinking through issues from a historical Jewish perspective.

Very readable discussion
Rabbi Tekushkin covers a wide range of topics on how to relate to our fellow man. The book is long, but the material is accessible to all, Jew and non-Jew

This book is written in a very readable style. I found it not only informative but also entertaining. The author goes intodetails not usually considered by the layman, but which the layman is informed of without feeling talked down to. Many misunderstood teachings are clarified so that what seemed to have been contradictions cease to be so. A good book to refer back to, judging by its companion book, A Code of Jewish Ethics, Volume 1.

Volumes 1 and 2 are perhaps the finest distillation of Jewish wisdom ever to be offered in two accessible volumes. You could spend your life meditating on their contents, and you would be better for it. Beautiful books.

A must for Christians that are questioning the New Testament.
