Now that I own the bag I can confirm it can hold six, maybe could squeeze one more but definitely not 8.

Can this handle the weight of my d&d hardcover book collection? I believe it totally fill this up! That's alot of weight.

It’s a heavy duty bag. My normal backpack could handle my books and this one is more heavy duty. It’ll hold it. Totally worth it for the money. Spend the extra money and get the one u want. I got purple and it looks like amethyst’s dragon skin. Totally worth it.

If it's normal rain the yes. I've never had an issue with contents getting wet and the bag dries fairly quick. I've walked form my car into a game shop with it raining and never any issues
