1445 Aftershave

What an excellent Aftershave! The formula seems to be pretty concentrated and the scent is a bit on the stronger side so a little goes a long way. It goes on slick with a silky smooth texture but dries quickly and leaves no greasy or tacky feeling at all. Once applied, it feels like a cross between a balm and a Skin Food from the Geo. F. Trumper’s line. I’ve owned many dozens of aftershave balms and splashes over the years and Castle Forbes make some of the finest performing aftershaves I’ve come across to date. The scent is a little harder to describe because I haven’t smelled anything else quite like it but it’s an instant winner. It’s a fresh, intoxicating, aromatic scent that smells very masculine and clean. It’s almost one of those scents that you feel you should be able to put your finger on but can’t. Although it doesn’t exactly smell like anything straight forward, there’s nothing in the ingredients that make it smell synthetic or unnatural in any way. I was a little surprised when I unboxed this product to discover that the bottle is made of squeezable, black plastic as opposed to the more elegant glass bottle advertised. The glass would have made a much nicer display although the plastic does seem more practical and will probably allow me to get more out of the bottle once I start running low.

Aaaahhh...just right! I have tried a number of aftershaves, and this Castle Forbes 1445 is perfect! Wonderful fragrance, application is smooth and silky. Dispenser top is not a spray, but rather a pour-style through the pop-open top. Very functional. I tried the Castle Forbes Cedar/Sandalwood, but I agree with other reviews that say it is too strong...smells like the bottom of a hamster cage. Also tried their Lime, and it was too strong as well, unless you like getting hit it the face with a Key Lime pie, as one reviewer indicated. Interestingly, he actually liked that, so to each his own. The only other aftershave that I like as much as this Castle Forbes 1445 is the Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood gel. That fragrance is quite different from the 1445, but plenty strong yet without being too much. I will use both the 1445 and the TOBS, switching them at various times to keep things interesting!

This product has a clean fresh sent and a great conditioner for the face after shaving. My wife enjoys the sent. Like many products today, it does not have a “perfume” sent. Great for your face whether using blades or electric razors.

This is a high quality aftershave lotion and moisturizer. No burn, a small amount goes a long way, and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and, well, moisturized, without leaving a greasy residue (except if overapplied, but even then it is absorbed quickly). The 1415 scent is a classic fougere type: a blend of ferns and grasses with lavender, tarragon, lemon and bitter orange (manufacturer info, I don't smell much bitter orange). While I love the sister (brother), lavender-scented version (also available on Amazon), I find the 1445 scent rather conservative. But that is intentional, I'd say. For the gentleman of a certain age, think Sean Connery post-Never Say Never Again...

I have all castle forbes shaving creams and balms. Yes, they are pricey but do go a long way and are value for money. Castle Forbes 1445 is the most manly out of them all:shaving cream and balm. The 1445 balm does not leave a greasy residue, does not sting, but leaves a clean smooth look after a shave. Quality product indeed and in my view a "chick" magnet too as all my female work colleagues love the smell. I will buy this again without doubt the best smell Castle Forbes have in their shaving range. Just need them to add a 'Bay Rum' cream and balm to their collection for mens grooming. Awsome product!

I was looking for a memorable scented aftershave. This product is ok. It had received lots of good reviews. But for my palate it is just so-so. The cream is smooth. But the scent is just ok. The label on the bottle is rather cheaply made for the price I paid. it's just not for me.

A really terrific scent. But you need just a "smidgeon" or less!! It could be overpowering if one if one puts it on generously.

My go to aftershave. I’ve used it for a few years and it goes a long way. Conditions your face well. If you’re like me and wet shave with a de or straight razor, this is the finishing touch your looking for. Smell like a gentleman that cares about himself but can swing a sledgehammer all day. My wife and daughters are fond of it too.

The scent this product has is amazing. I expected it to smell completely fresh (lime, citrus…) but it actually is very well balanced. The scent isn’t overpowering though, which is suitable for anyone who likes wearing perfume.

Sehr angenehmer Geruch. Hält sehr lange an. Dezent und doch "da". Für Büro/Geschäftsleben genau richtig. Ist eines meiner dauerhaft verwendeten After Shaves Produkte. Selten habe ich etwas bereits so lange in Verwendung wie dieses.

Leggero al tatto profumazione buonissima. Giusto rapporto qualità prezzo
