Pitcher Plant

I buy a lot of these "tissue culture" type of plants because they have great survivability and don't have any pest on them. I wasn't ready for this Nepenthes to have tiny bells on it, though. That being said, this is still just a tissue culture and I doubt it could live a year in its dish. I'm going to open mine up immediately and add root compound with a syringe at the cut and close it back up. I plan to have this guy take root over a few months and then add him to a pico carnivous terrarium. Everyone else, understand this is a tissue culture and not a forever home for the plant. After a 6-9 months, take this plant out and put it in sphagnum moss so that it can keep on living.

This plant is really cute! It arrived alive and unbroken! It has one very small dead leaf. My one problem with this is that it is a lot smaller than pictured and doesn’t have any pitchers. The product picture clearly shows a bigger plant with pitchers. I’ve reached out to the seller and hope for an answer soon. Overall, I am still pleased with this item and would highly recommend. I have yet to see the accommodation of the seller. UPDATE the seller answered and said they would send me a replacement plant! I HIGHLY recommend this shop and seller! Would definitely buy from them again! SECOND UPDATE I received the second plant and am EXTREMELY pleased with it!! It has much more/bigger pitchers! I can’t recommend this seller enough! Best seller I have ever purchased from!

The actual plant was 3x smaller than the one in the photo. Wish it came with instructions . It doesn’t grow at all in this. The blue agar just sustains it like a bonsai tree. It grows a little bit with artificial light or natural sunlight but the agar in mine starting to mold after putting the terrarium outside in direct sunlight for an hour I guess because of the heat humidifying the agar to mold. I kept my top on airtight But it’s too easy for the dome to slip off when grabbing the terrarium. I wanted to replant in a pot but the info on the site just told me to replant once it outgrows the terrarium which isn’t that helpful. I possibly wouldn’t buy this again

Gave 4 star because I keep getting mold in the gel that the plant comes in. I never have opened it so I'm unsure how mold gets in other than it not being packed in a sterile room. I contacted the store and was sent a replacement and within a couple weeks... MOLD again. I have ordered 4 of these and all but 1 has grown mold and had to be replaced. The replacements also grew mold but I might have caught it in time and have planted it in soil in hopes of saving 2 of them. Great customer service though!

Bought sept 2024. This his about 1.5 years old. Does not look like tobaica...

This product was really great and was my second carnivorous plant after my first one died. The 1st picture was after transplant (sadly, I didn’t have sphagnum to put it into), and the 2nd picture was when I first got it (sorry if you can’t see it well, it was under a grow light and was also fogged up). I have high hopes this matures, so that I can (probably) cross this with my Nepenthes ventricosa x mikei.

I have to say, I am very impressed. I didn’t realize this was delivered, and I feel so bad it spent all night outside in COLD weather (20 degrees and colder) over night, but it survived!! It had a heat pack, and by the time I got to it the heat pack was cold. Very durable plant and wonderful packaging or I’m sure it wouldn’t have made it! Thank you so much for adding the heat pack! This item is tiny and adorable and I love it! Looks exactly like the pictures, highly recommend :)

It was cute and I was very excited. It's been 6 months and there has been no growth and now one of the bells is molding. All of the other bells are dead. The jar has never been opened. I'm very disappointed. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because the jar is cute and I did receive a live plant.
