Baketivity Whoopie Pie Kids Baking Kit with Pre-Measured Ingredients

We bought this for my 7 year old for Valentine's Day. I was his teacher/sous chef tonight. He read the directions with ease and they were easy to follow. They came out great. The only thing we did differently was add some vanilla to the buttercream, they needed that little bit of flavor. It made 9 whoopie pies for us. You will need to provide your own egg, milk, and oil. -very easy -taste good -easy to read directions -tips to help tell they are done The kit is a little pricey, but to get a kid interested in and build confidence in cooking/baking, I think it was worth it for that occasional splurge.

I'm a working mom and for me is very difficult to plan bake time activity with my little boy of 4 years old. This was perfect for me instructions were super easy to follow, everything was very nicely packed label and just super easy. the recipe was fast and delicious.

I bought this for my sister-in-law and she made it with her kids for Christmas. All of the kids loved it and they had a great time making it. It was easy for my SIL without making too big of mess because everything was measured out for her.

Product looks good but why oh why did you cover up the label identifying the item with the shipping labels??! This was ordered as a gift. The recipient needs to know what tge darn thing is. Pic 1 is how it arrived. Pic 2 is after 20 minutes of careful scraping. Ugh. Maybe ship future orders in an envelope or box. Thanks.

We got the kit as a gift, and it was the Whoopie Pie kit. We had two issues with the kit, one minor and one pretty major. The minor issue is that the sifting of flour and cocoa powder were left out of the instructions. These ingredients are so compressed that, if not sifted and aerated, they will clump during mixing with wet ingredients and affect the taste of the cookie. The major issue is that the frosting was so cloyingly sweet that it was completely inedible. The frosting was also strawberry flavored but the flavor tasted synthetic, like strawberry flavored cough syrup. We ended up throwing everything away. I would not recommend the Whoppie Pie kit to others. My suggestions: 1) add sifting of flour and cocoa to the instructions; 2) replace frosting completely with simple vanilla frosting and omit sugar... let the baker add sugar to taste.
