You will want to purchase seperate scissors
The scissors provided are very cheap and my toddler found them difficult to use. I had to purchase a child sized pair seperately. Perk however is that the instructions come boxed by section, so after the project is done and she wants to go to the next (which I'm trying to do one a day to make it last and build the skill daily) we cut up the instructions that were provided. We then use markers and decorate the project further, to get more entertainment and personalization.

Kids loved them! Would love to buy more!
Packaging was a little weird because it was just a bubble envelope but the actual “scissor” projects were nice because they were more project-based than just cutting paper. We have a lot of Kumon workbooks for just cutting but these actually created a handful of different thing...Octopus, crown, puppets, shaggy dog...Both my kids, age 3 and 5, enjoyed the projects but my 5 year olds was able to do them alone, whereas my 3 year old needed much more hand-holding.The scissors that are included aren’t the best but they’re not horrible. We usually use the Fiskar’s kids’ scissors on everything because they actually cut but these included scissors did have different edges to them and we enjoyed that.I only wish there were more projects to order because my kids are almost finished with this bunch.

Great product for scissor practice
I’ve purchased many M & D toys; they’re all great, but this one was the best. The scissor activities are so cute and fun to do, and they progress in difficulty. The scissors are super-safe - made of plastic only - so they don’t work great. We ended up switching to my son’s metal safety scissors for a neater cut. But I’m completely satisfied with this purchase nevertheless.

Just a bunch of loose projects
I was surprised and disappointed that this is a bunch of separate plastic bags with a project in each with no container to hold them together. They came in a padded shipping envelope that is destroyed once you open it. Seemed pretty low-quality for a Melissa & Doug product.

Excellent teaching scissor skill
The packaging leaves a bit to be desired. No way to reclose after cutting open with scissors. I gave as a gift for my 4y/o grandson. He enjoys the adorable animals.
