This is fairly accurate, just as described. The slim pen design is great for keeping in your chef coat and using a million times a day. Great for working with chocolate or sugar or anything you don't necessarily want to probe. Obviously it only works on surface temperatures.

The product itself works well, but when I got it, I was honestly afraid it wouldn't work at all. The batteries that were included were dead and had started to leak in the unit. Luckily I was able to replace the batteries and the acid did not get on anything important, so it does what it was supposed to do. It was disappointing to have to buy batteries though since when comparing prices, the inclusion of batteries was accounted for. The directions are also almost completely in Chinese, so they were pointless when I was trying to determine how to open the unit and change batteries.

I use this to measure the temperature of my soaps while making them and this little guy is more than perfect.

It was a cheap piece of junk. It is only a toy and not useful in any way. Not worth anything.
