Remember it will leave indents but does spring back and have some resiliency, but I don't know the effect of long term placement of a rowing or any type of heavy equipment, I only placed a 4-legged chair for a duration of a workout and it sprung back to original shape. **Q: Can this mat handle aerobics in shoes?** A: We have had this mat for about 2 to 3 months and do cardio aerobics with sneakers almost every day, as well as yoga and variety of other exercise programs. We also walk across it numerous times a day.
