What is glycerol and why is it used in this product?

Glycerol is a simple polyol compound. It is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid that is sweet-tasting and non-toxic. The glycerol backbone is found in lipids known as glycerides. Due to having antimicrobial and antiviral properties it is widely used in FDA approved wound and burn treatments. Conversely, it is also used as a bacterial culture medium. It can be used as an effective marker to measure liver disease. It is also widely used as a sweetener in the food industry and as a humectant in pharmaceutical formulations. Owing to the presence of three hydroxyl groups, glycerol is miscible with water and is hygroscopic in nature. Used in this product as a sweetener. I hope this helps.

Would these be able to withstand shipping to Hawaii?

Yes they will make it to Hawaii each pack inside are vacuum sealed. If my memory does not fail me its 3 cakes per pack. They are very tasty.

Are they gluten free?

NO. They are not gluten free. Contain: Wheat, EGG, SOY & Milk. Also, processed in a plant that processes peanuts & tree nuts. Not allergy safe.

I ordered this and they were stale....plus near the expiration date!!!! is this how you conduct business??? and i cant return them. never again!!!!
