Swissmar Classic Indoor Electric Raclette Grill, Cast Aluminum Plate, Black

This grill was a hit at our Christmas party. Easy to use, easy to clean up. Can even go in the dishwasher. It’s good for a group or just two people. It’s good quality.

I'm a mobility challenged homemaker and preparing company meals had become all but impossible. We were invited to dinner at a friend's home and she served raclette prepared on a device like this. I saw it as the answer to my ability to show hospitality. This particular raclette machine...the aluminium classic... works so well. The top grill heats relatively quickly to a temperature that easily cooks meat and vegetables. It has a knob that controls the temperature. The eight cheese dishes are easy to use and big enough to hold a decent sized piece of cheese. The heated cheese easily pours from the cool handler dishes. We didn't even need to use the spatulas. The griddle was also very easily cleaned. I am so delighted to have found the answer to my entertaining dilemma! It is truly an answer to prayer and my guests loved it too. I can highly recommend the Swissmar Classic and my investigation of reviews...not just on Amazon...proved others agree. You can't go wrong with this one!

We love doing gourmet/raclette, especially for New Year's eve. It is fun and safe. The kids love it too. This is a good machine. It has 8 pans but on top it would be a little small if you use it like we do for 8 people. For 4 to 6 people it is perfect.

My husband and I had another raclette and it was so difficult to use so we decided to invest a little more money and this one is worth every dime!The grill works very well, you can adjust the temperature, and it's a lot of fun! We haven't used the crepe side yet since we have a crepe pan at home.I love that we can all hung out at the table for longer than the usual, no one is in a rush and everyone is enjoying the food and each other's company!The only con I found is that since the raclette is not round there are 2 sides that can't be used and that is kind of difficult when you have a round table.The grill is easy to clean; however, I like to leave it soaking through the night and wash it the next day.Something that I learned with previous raclette grills including this one is that if you want to fit 4 people you should get one that fits 6. If you want to fit 6 get one for 8.Highly recommended!!!

I bought this after returning from Switzerland and having Raclette there. This appliance is well made, good looking and does a good job. The grill on top fits snugly to the supports and does a good job cooking the sausage and potatoes I placed up there. The cheese melted nicely and slid beautifully out of the holder. I especially like that the temperature is adjustable. It also cleans easily.My one complaint is that it take a lot of storage space. Ah the sacrifices we make for good food.Edited to add: this has turned into great fun for appetizers at parties. And people are still surprised how good melted cheese is over dill pickles.

This is actually our second purchase of this raclette grill. Serving raclette is so much fun, the cheese itself (especially the French mountain variety) is delicious, and we love to have people over to enjoy it with us. This second grill allows us now to serve up to 16 people (each grill serves 8). Raclette is a French meal that is served mainly in the winter months. You can buy raclette cheese from many grocery stores now. It is best if the store will slice it for you in advance. The French typically serve a platter of several different types of pork deli meats (prosciutto, rosette (salami), and canadian bacon or other ham. Also typical is to have sliced bread (bakery French bread) and whole steamed small potatoes, cornichons (small pickles) and cocktail onions. The cheese is melted in the tray and you can grill any meat, if you'd like, on top of the grill. Once the cheese is melted, you pour it over the bread, meat, and potatoes and enjoy. The grill itself is great. Very nice looking. I highly recommend spending the extra money for an 8 person grill over a 6 person grill so that you can enjoy this meal with friends. This grill comes with 8 very nice spatulas as well to use with the trays. We've not had any troubles with either grill and the first one we've owned for nearly 2 years now. Highly recommend this product.

We love our raclette, and have used it often since purchasing! Great for dinner parties to really get people comfortable and stimulate conversation and spending more time together. We've saved a lot of money by avoiding the restaurants with this, and the guests we've entertained have raved about the experience. It's easy to use, prepare, and cleanup -- and we've had zero issues. Make sure you warm it up for at least 30 mins before starting dinner, or it can take some time to get going. We usually do a fondue course first to give it time to heat up. Love the cheese and potato baskets that go underneath. Plenty of room to cook tons of food for 8 people! Even the kids love it.

I bought six of these for Christmas gifts after using one for my own dinner party. Big hit! Great for laid back entertaining... cook while visiting at the dining table. I always have a variety of food.... meats, shrimp, raw tuna, scallops, raw vegetables, mini pitas with fixings for pizzas (children love) plus a variety of cut cheese. All cook/roast on this grill. Highly recommend premarinating meats/shrimp/scallops and pre-boiling small potatoes-flatten/season ahead of time. Fun and enjoyable meal!!!

Hoy hicimos una cena para 6 y funcionó de maravilla, funciona perfectamente bien, la temperatura se regula fácilmente, se calienta rápido y no es estorbosa en la mesa. Incluye las espátulas de muy buena calidad y me gustó que no se calienta en los laterales o por debajo. Los niños lo disfrutaron muchísimo y podían participar de la fiesta. Las charolas para el queso no se calientan en el mango, se pueden coger fácilmente.Muy Buena compra, nos gusto muchísimo.

Smaller than what I hoped for, it's not really ideal for 8 adults that's for sure, but I still love it!It's more perfect for 2-5 people. Get some silicon tongs for it as you don't want to scrap it with metal tongs.Pros: Does the job and does it well. Fairly easy to clean as the top grill pop's off easy (but not too easy when it's in use).Cons: The metal trays for the broil feature bend a bit too easy and gives the only feeling of them being cheap. Handle them carefully when using or washing them and you could be okay. You could always bend them back into shape.Favorite grill: Marinated bulgogi beefFavorite broil: sliced baguette with fresh strawberries on top and camembert melted over top of the entire thing

We are a Swiss family living in Canada and I give this Swissmar five stars. It heats up quickly, it is sturdy and looks good and clean. Cleaning it is easy and pans are good quality. Grilling surface works good too.
