I used to love sketching up cars when I was a kid. My dad worked for a major automotive company in Detroit and used to bring home all the new product books. I would sketch over them and then make modifications in my sketches to make the cars look 'cooler'. This book reminds me of the hours and hours I would spend doing that. There's no way I would have built up the talent that Scott has, which is clearly evident in this book. His sketches and ideas make it look almost easy to do. But, rest assured, this man has some serious talent.I think it was the cover shot of the book that made me want to buy this. It's an amazing rendering of a car that will likely never exist. There's a futuristic pride that takes place when you look at the sketches. It reminds me of the old Disney videos of what the future will look like. It seemed so real and possible.The sketches of the bicycles was a pleasant surprise. I guess I was just expecting a bunch of future looking vehicles. The bike sketches are really amazing. Definitely pushing and going beyond the design realities of your typical bicycle. I found myself being a little critical of the designs, but then I had to just step back and appreciate the futuristic prediction and take in the awesome possibilities.The only thing that I would be a bit critical of, is the constant mention of Adobe's Photoshop. This book could easily be turned sold as marketing brochure for the software application. However, it did pique my curiosity of how these sketches were done and made me want to visit his website ([...]). Of which, is another great place to check out his work.If you're in the search for design inspiration or just like to look at exceptional sketches, than this is sure to meet your expectations.

This second book from scott robertson is just as amazing as his "lift off" book. This book has real world examples of the creative process that it takes to create a vehicle from a simple idea to a final render. Tons of amazing sketches are inspirational and just candy for your eyes. I love this book and never get tired off looking at it. I recomend it to anyone in the design field who is looking for fresh ideas and work for inspiration

I have seen a decent amount of Scott Robertson's work, and all of it conveys a great understanding of design that is both awesome to look at and functional. Scott's book includes a lot of process work that clearly communicates his design process, and this further drives home the notion that everything really is composed of spheres, cubes, cylinders, and triangles.

I'm pretty sure this can be useful as an inspiration for future artists and designers around the world. The high class paper and impression makes not-real cars become more real than expected. In addition, Scott Robertson is a very good designer to follow up actively... ;)

I you like rough drawings then this is the book for you. Draft and design ppl may enjoy looking through it but otherwise what do you expect. Marvel at scott's draftmanship

Great for inspiration, and great works !

Scott Robertson is a brilliant and imaginative designer and illustrator. This book is a great exhibition of his many talents as an artist ofhigh caliber. Very inspiring work! :)

Tous les ouvrages de cet auteur sont a posséder pour acquérir ou perfectionner sa technique de dessin, sketch et rough. Après quelques années sans dessiner celui-ci et deux autres plus orienté technique de cet auteur m'ont permis de me remettre au design auto et produit en évitant certains écueils.A conseiller à tous, même aux non anglophiles

Bewerte diese Buch im Grunde genauso wie "Lift off".Tolles Buch, klasse Illustrationen und vor allem Entwürfe!Denke es spricht wohl eher Leute an, die selbst zeichnen und entwerfen, oder zumindest einen Bezug dazu haben.Das Buch enthält sehr viele Entwurfsskizzen, die einen Einblick in die Arbeitsweise eines Vehicle Designers bieten,sowie einige tolle illustrierte Abbildungen!

The best self learning book I have ever come across for art and design. If this is your field of study .. it is a must to help understand the basics. :D
